Love your avatar. I remember that Bleach episode, it really cracked me up when she did that.

KuronekoYamato | 05-28-11, 10:29 PM
Now THAT would be quite a fun challenge! However, I don't think most of the episodes graduated from the VCR's, so although Tokyo Toshokan and youtube may be a start, I can't guarantee much... Good Luck! (`-´)>

In a way... and I do mean, in some CRAZY way, that BSB song actually makes it look a little special.
shin-chan humor, it does sorta look like that...

An interesting fact, is that Zegapain was finished mere weeks before Code Geass started! If you've seen Geass, and watch Zega you'll see how their prioritization changed so much

Otaking09 | 05-22-11, 1:26 AM
Wow... I'm surprised with how effective that song works as an opening for that series!

The show looks quite good! Thanks for recommending it! Brigadoon'll impress you in many ways.
Another series that's underrated but quite the sci-fi is Zegapain(don't know if I already recommended it).

Hey, old friend, I just saw a very good movie called:
http://myanimelist.net/anime/2848/Kappa_no_Coo_to_Natsuyasumi

I noticed you loved it too. Wasn't it truly something special?

Otaking09 | 03-20-11, 9:10 AM
Hey, been a while.

I know you love obscure titles, so here's one of the best new series I've watched: Brigadoon!

It's a rare series that has a bit of everything, and... it's hard to tell if it's a direct kids' series or not, as it has some heavy adult themes too(like Casshern Sins).

In any case, I know you would truly appreciate it, so enjoy!

Otaking09 | 01-04-11, 11:10 AM
Thanks a bunch!

If you want to watch something short, a bit crazy, unique, and.... with a point.
Watch what I'm watching right now: Gosenzosama Banbanzai!
You can find it at bakabt too!, The ending is supposed to be fantastic!

Hmm.... it felt like all of the great supernatural elements and psychoanalysis was a bit wasted on some backhanded conspiracy story...
I would've liked it to have more romance, or, at the very least, have made better use of Miyako.

It's still a great departure from mos anime in general, but it didn't properly use it's novelty in an original manner.
In that sense, it just felt like they were glorifying something that we've seen in most movies.

All of the mystery and moodiness that made the series so amazingly fresh and addicting... is wasted.
Now I understand why some people say "the end doesn't justify the means".
Overall I give it an 8, because it did stay consistent with it's tone, and it was entertaining. But, would I buy it? Hmmm... I dunno.

Otaking09 | 10-25-10, 2:14 PM
A question: How's Ghost Hound? I already know you rated it an 8, but...

Is it worth watching? Does it end well? How're the characters?

Help me out buddy 'ol pal!

LiarK | 10-21-10, 7:22 PM
I watched them right after I finished the main one. They're not really movies, more like episodes. And I think it works both ways, if you can match the time space in which to watch them.

Otaking09 | 10-14-10, 5:31 PM
Indeed! I'm glad you got the message of Sins!

You see, the main characters wanted to see what Luna had to offer, except...
things were reversed, instead of granting "death", she granted "life". When Casshern "killed" her he took that part of her into him.
It's definitely one of the greater endings an anime can offer. You just have to pay close attention. I felt quite sad when Lyuze died...

If 999's message is a bit similar to C. Sins then... then that gives me all the more incentive to finish it.

Thanks for watching it! let me know if you want another recommendation.

Otaking09 | 10-14-10, 12:14 AM
So... what'd you think of Casshern Sins?

Otaking09 | 10-10-10, 4:36 PM
I used to think that everyone could love Casshern Sins. But... not every one loves Fireflies!
I'm glad you like it! It only gets better and better. I watched it subbed.

Really? I thought they focused on episodic throughout and only concentrated the "story" during the last 20.

As for Unicorn, I've heard that it's already gonna be an anime classic, but... I wanna watch and finish Zeta and watch Char's Counterattack too.
That way I don't run into any continuity problems.
Thanks for your input though! I heard the dub is great too! I'm a fan of the director(Rurouni Kenshin!)

The Tatami Galaxy... If I were to compare it, it's a psychological slice-of-life that's not necessarily heavy in tone, but is quite the trickster!
Beware, you're gonna have to read subtitles a bit faster than usual.
Other than that, the series is near perfect. No joke!

Otaking09 | 10-10-10, 11:00 AM
Casshern Sins is... from what I've heard, a COMPLETE departure from the Casshern series.
I think the only other anime that can compare with it's atmosphere that you've seen is Grave of the Fireflies. I, personally, didn't find the movie depressing, but a movie that got more and more... sadder.

In a way, that's what C. Sins is like in a way.

It's no big deal about Galactic Heroes. That's a good reason for not wanting to watch. It's definitely something to watch once you get those "I wanna be a perfect strategist/dictator/hero!" cravings.

Gundam SEED was my first exp. into the Gundam universe, contrary to those who saw 1st Gundam, or Gundam Wing.
SEED was... just an interesting way to apply a practical motive to start war, and had an interesting villain(for a Gundam. Gundam villains are a little... difficult to rate character-wise). I still find to be one of 3 best Gundams to start the franchise.

Oh, I LOVE 999. It's one of those absolute works of art that can only be described as "timeless". I just wanted your opinion on watching it. Is it easy to marathon?

I see that you love Wing. Which was something that I "respect more than I like". The only reason I gave it a 9 was that I found most of the characters to be a little detached. But... it still is a superb series. And definitely one of the best Gundams.
If you want a true military Gundam, one that relies on tactics, limited armaments, and confrontations of motives, AND.... a great ending.
I recommend The 8th MS Team. It's one of the best mecha anime in general.

According to your likes/dislikes list it says you prefer "short and sweet" series. With that in mind, there's not a better series to recommend than The Tatami Galaxy. Few series has done what that series can do. And even FEWER series has done it within 24 episodes! Let alone 11!!!
It's, IMHO, the classic of this year.

Happy to hear =) It does resemble GTO, you can say it's the same style.
