Well... i`m interested into psychology (even though i`m not good at it) since i like to study human nature, so, naturally, i like psycho animes. if it`s weird, then i`m in. it`s fun to see different metaphors about the same concept: human mind.
random facts about me: i enjoy watching clouds, eating food, sleeping, spending time making useless theories.
now on animeish stuff:
I LIKE (about characters)(random facts):
-the silent male character that always shows up to be bad ass
-the wise kid that doesn`t show any interest in love, even though he/she is haunted down
-the mad-genius type that turns evil
-the crazy/twisted character with compulsory disorders (death the kid?)
-the characters that mess up in a really funny way
-i guess i like the angsty teenagers too. they provide me with plenty of despair.
(i just realized that my favorite characters tend to be males, serious type - they don`t even smile in their "picture"- usually dark haired)
I HATE (about characters)(random facts):
-the clumsy character that always ruins it (in a NOT funny way)
-the stupidness (especially on those female characters that "fall in love" and do whatever the guy says)
-the naive type
-main characters that are weak and go suddenly super-special-awesome to beat up their opponent
-arrogant characters with shitty personality
(the characters i hate the most are usually useless girls that just depend on someone else, the wimpy weak males, the overly nice for no reason males/girls)
i`m not gonna give any names since i don`t wanna point at any characters, but some of them just piss me off. for a good anime, the cast of characters has to be on one`s taste. if you don`t like half of the characters, that anime won`t taste the same for you as for someone who adores most of the characters... but hey, there has to be one character that has to be hated, antipathetic and made voodoo on, so yeah, they`re necessary.
my top 10 anime (so far)(random order): paranoia agent, serial experiments lain, mononoke, mushishi, last exile, haibane renmei, death note, xxxholic, sayonara zetsubou sensei, vampire knight.
i love studio ghibli productions and hayao miyazaki`s work.
100th: possibly gantz (can`t remember exactly).
200th: haibane renmei
300th : kemonozume (great one)

i just started school a while ago so i've been a somewhat busy lately.
a good example of black humor is the movie man bites dog where a film crew follows a local serial killer. it should be dark and bleak, but it never takes itself very seriously.
it depends on taste, plain and simple

still i'm willing to sit through more of SZS later on
that could be it or they got more talented employees. if you compare their older shows like sailor moon, dragon ball series, and fist of the north star to their latest shows like kuuchuu buranko, air gear, and the later eps of one piece, they've indeed greatly improved their eye of quality.

i notice our rather cruddy their animation was back then, but by around 2000 or so it started to vastly improve.
from the background to the foreground, they almost always look so damn appealing.
plus, i know i'm not the only one to notice this but almost everything from shaft is done by this guy.
yeah studio 4C has such an unique and experimental style of animation. it's easily far beyond typical art and animation, the guys there are total artistic genius X3
