The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
Time waits for no one!!!!
My taste in anime (by order of preference!):
1 - Romance
2 - Slice of life
3 - Fantasy
4 - Drama
5 - Comedy
This is what I usually like... but I often like anime that doesn't really have these things. I guess my taste is changing! If you know any series you think might interest me... then give me recommendations please!
If you want to become my friend... I'll be more than glad to accept you! :D

Almost a year ago I found another thing I like... Asian Dramas. It soon became something I like as much as anime. For more info about them... go to D-Addicts[dot]com.... or SilentRegrets[dot]com!
Check out my favourite club, Asian Drama Addicts!
These are the Dramas I've watched so far and how much I liked them (my rating of them). I'm using the 5 stars rating system where 5 is outstanding and 0 is horrible.

Hey! I am in your MAL book club. Anyway, I just love your tastes in manga, anime, and asian dramas! Have you seen Corner With Love? It is a Taiwanese drama and it is my favorite! My favorite Korean drama is Boys Over Flowers. I think it is the best Boys Over Flowers adaption there is. Anyway, I just wanted to make a comment. Oh! And I love your sig! The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is one of the original anime movies that made me interested in anime!

Believe it or not, that is Bella and Edward from Twilight. I got it off Pixiv. The artist is Nardack. Glad you like it. ^^ I really like the artist's other works too.

We have free health care in Canada as well. Slow and inefficient free health care, but free nonetheless. Though stuff like prescription drugs, vison care, and dental care are not covered so most people (who can afford it) have private health insurance to supplement the free health care. We certainly don't pay anything for doctor's appointments, emergency room visits or stays in a hospital though.
Your school is so CHEAP! @_@
You should inform those people that complain that many students in Canada pay up to and over $15,000 (9,653.32 EUR) a YEAR for their education, depending on their program and school. It can be a lot more than that too! $15,000 (and more) was how much my combined tuition, fees, books, and approximate bare bones living costs would have been at the University of British Columbia (one of the biggest and best schools in Canada) had I gone there. As it stands, I'm paying $2600 (1,672.55 EUR) for my tuition just this semester, and about the same next semester. So my tuition for a year (not including the cost of books, rent, and living expenses) is over $5200 ( 3,345.09 EUR). Pretty good, by our standards. XD
And tuition costs are rising across the country! This is due to something like a non-progressive tax scheme which has lead to public institutions gradually having to rely more on private funding, causing education costs to skyrocket.
Because my parents can't afford to fund my education, I've had to take out student loans from the government to fund myself too. There aren't very many scholarships or bursaries (basically free money for students awarded based on academic achievement and financial need) I'm eligible for. By the end of my education I'll owe the Canadian government something like $50,000. ;_;

I'm sorry that my explanation isn't too good or too complete. >_< I don't think the system is too different in your country. I bet it's cheaper.
What are tuition costs like there, actually? Or are you in a country where it's free due to a progressive tax scheme....

No, we call it a "major" because it's what the majority of your field of study is, or your main area of study is another way to say it, and what your degree is for. A minor is a secondary field of study that you happen to have the credits for. There weren't always minors and they were named thus because "minor" is the opposite of "major," and you can't really do a minor with every major, and most people don't even try. There's actually a lot of programs just like the one you described. You have a set group of courses you need to take to have the credits for your degree, and often there is no room for a secondary field of study. Even in my program, most of my courses I *have* to take to get my degree and I have little time (well, non really, but I'm trying) for a secondary field.
For example, I know for a fact that the nursing program here is exactly the same as yours. You sign up for the program and are automatically enrolled in a certain group of courses (they're all nursing-related, probably like your program but split into different blocks) that lead to a general certificate, I believe. My sister's program, which was environmental planning, was the same way. Also direct career programs like aviation have the same set up.
If you came here and did a Nursing program, it would be a lot like the nursing program in your home country.

I thought the whole concept of a "major" is that you focus on that specific field and forget all else. A "minor" is the exception that allows you to shift a bit of focus onto another field. You do get to do stuff like English requirements and a couple electives (whatever you want to try), but the opportunity for electives is smaller the more advanced you get and for the most part your education would be spent working on the course credits necessary to complete a degree in your major. Everything else comes second!
For example, I am doing a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. This semester I am taking four creative writing courses and Japanese. I'd like to take some art or theatre classes, but they don't fit into my schedule (especially with Japanese >_<) and I don't need them. Next semester I have only 3 creative writing courses (but I am not actually enrolled yet as I am on the courses' wait lists!), Fantasy Literature (which is directly related to my field of study) and Japanese again.
I already satisfied the elective and English requirements for my first 2 years of my degree during my stint at college. But since none of my creative writing courses there count towards the requirements of my degree, I need to take a LOT of creative writing courses this year if I want to advance next year.
How does this contrast with what your country's post-secondary educational system?

I watched it almost immediately after you told me its name. I really loved it. I wish it ended a little differently, but I still think it was a 10!

Hey, lovely to hear from you! How have you been?
I've been really busy with my Masters degree and running the uni animesoc this year. Working on my thesis atm and lamenting the typical British summer, hehe. ^^;
I haven't really followed any jdrama in the last few seasons, but recently picked up Buzzer Beat and totally love it. What have you been enjoying? :3
