I have been an anime fan ever since I was little back in the Philippines. The first anime that I have seen are primarily mecha (Macross, Gundam, Voltes V, Daimos, Mechander Robo, etc.) and it's always been one of my favorite genres in anime. I stopped watching anime when my family and I moved to the U.S. (where there's technically no anime existed on TV shows back then).

It wasn't until in the mid-'90s in my first Japanese classes in college that I rediscovered anime once again when anime became available to the U.S. In addition I started exploring with other genres too (comedy, romance, slice-of-life, magical girls, etc. etc.). Actually I have always been fond of the Japanese language and culture and I wanted to "expose" myself to that new culture, but never have I thought of anime during that time. Thanks to my classmates in Japanese class, I got exposed to anime again, in addition to manga altogether.

I've been out of college for almost 10 years now and due to my other interests, as well as work, I'm not much of a huge anime fan as I used to, but I still am an avid reader of manga altogether. I would watch anime whenever there is time or if there's a feel to it, but not enough of a fan for me to create a fansite for it. ^_~
