While titles like Gargantia and Attack on Titan stand out among the Spring 2013 anime list, The Severing Crime Edge is one that completely drew my attention. The anime has a creepy theme where everything is nice and happy yet you know that something is up. The anime ties is many themes, and this makes it watchable for all audiences.

Story: 7/10

The story is of very mixed-genre that ties in many common anime themes. The show starts out with a creepy slice-of-life theme that is so sweet and cute, but then gains a shonen aspect that involves something like a Mirai Nikki killing game. The ... show is very mixed and while bloody and creepy, it is also sweet and adorable. But unfortunately sometimes the story can get mushy and lame, so the battling and romance are inconsistent.

Art: 8/10

It's modern animation. Lots of colors. Not much to say here but the artwork is very good. it exceeds almost everything before its time.

Sound: 8/10

The soundtrack is what ties in the themes of the anime. The sound consists of slow jazz that speeds up during the creepy parts. Because of this, the music ties in perfectly with the setting and alters itself with the setting. The opening isn't much to brag about though.

Character: 7/10

The character designs are great. They fit the part exactly. The main character's face looks exactly like Edward Elric's. One interesting thing is that there isn't a whole lot of character background for the protagonist. We know that he likes to cut hair but we don't know much about school or anything. I kinda like this, as it makes the story stick to the plot

Enjoyment: 7/10

My favorite genre is shonen or action. However, I like romance as well, as long as there's no drama. This was why I loved SAO so much as it was a fantasy action theme but there was some cute love story inside of it. The Severing Crime Edge is just the same. It harbors a creepy action plot but the protagonist is doing everything for the sake of a girl that he is trying to help just to be a nice guy.

Overall I really enjoyed this anime. I look forward to watching it to the end and that it becomes more popular as many people will enjoy it.

Specials are never really "good" but they can and should be enjoyable. They should be funny and a sort of comic relief. I usually like the Naruto specials, but I couldn't stand this one.

The story focuses around Konohamaru and Naruto searching for a secret wish-granting clover that will hopefully prevent Konohamaru's crush from moving away from the village. I personally loathe Konohamaru as a character and find him exceptionally annoying. The jokes were lame and the artwork was worse than the parent story. If you're trying to watch a Naruto special, I recommend any other than this, as this was probably the worst that I ... have watched.

It's an 11 minute special that is just devoted to comedy, and it's actually not bad. It's childish, but it's funny because all of the main characters are just casually there. There's nothing really special about it, except when Naruto sees the line for the bathroom, but you'll see why that's so funny. All of the genin are participating in the sports event, and they all use their techniques which make the special more lively. The sound and artwork is just like the Naruto series, so if you like it then you will probably like this. Over all, since it's an extremely short comedy special, ... there's no harn in watching it and I recommend that you do so.

Clever.

In my opinion this is the cleverest special for this series. Pretty simply, its an eight minute special of Sakura and Ino retelling the first 135 minutes of Naruto with as if they were high school students instead of ninjas. It's very smart and you have to pay close attention to fully enjoy it. The only problem I had was the artwork, which was black and white and little movement. There wasn't really much of a soundtrack either. But considering that it is very short and funny, I recommend watching it if you enjoyed Naruto.

Pokémon Special, where have you been all my life?

We all know that the Pokémon franchise is one of the greatest things to happen to Earth. Everything about it is so amazing and lovable. The games are some of the greatest, the Pokémon themselves are adorable, and the fan-base and merchandise is some of the best there is. There is only one thing that cripples the franchise: the anime.

Many, but not all, people have problems with the anime. For one, it is not serious enough and is too childish. They could've made a super crazy anime where the characters are totally serious and the fights are ... incredible. But they didn't. They made something on par with Dora the Explorer in terms of childishness.

However, Pokémon Special solves all of these problems. The whole thing is based off of the games and it explains so much that was left unanswered. The Pokémon battles are more intense and the main character, Red, is not a childish twerp like Ash Ketchum. Anyone who loves Pokémon will have the greatest time of their life reading this.

STORY:

The story is broken up into sagas, just like the anime. All of the sagas are based off of the games almost exactly. It bends your perception of Pokemon and sometimes does some things unrealistic, but that only makes it better. It also explains the history of the Pokemon world and describes everything behind the games and what happened before them.

One of my personal favorite things about this manga is how all Pokemon are practically equal. For example, an enemy Gengar would appear and the main characters would be cautious, seeing how Gengar is a strong Pokemon, but then they would run into a gastly and be just as cautious. The way the manga treats Pokemon is incredible and the battles are so much better too.

ART:

The art isn't anything special. All characters are chibi, but that is probably because the whole manga is based off of the games. Nothing good, but nothing bad.

CHARACTER:

The characters really make this manga amazing. Every time there is a new saga, new characters appear appropriate to the corresponding game. For example: During the Red/Blue saga, the main character is Red. He is also the avatar in the Pokemon Red/Blue video games. But once that saga ends, the main character becomes Gold, who is also the male avatar in the Gold/Silver video games. It also has 649+ Pokemon for characters, which is always amazing.

ENJOYMENT:

If you are not a Pokemon fan prior to reading the manga, you probably won't like it. That being said, if you are a fan, this will be the greatest read ever, as nostalgia and happiness will pour out of the pages. If you played the games and dislike the anime this will be the perfect thing for you. Afterwards, I guarantee you will be wondering why the anime isn't based off the manga.

Over all, I was underwhelmed.

I'm a huge Pokemon fan but I was never really into the anime. It was always so childish, and I thought they could do so much more. However, the producers totally step it up in every way when making the movies.

The story is about Zoroark and how it is both a good guy and a bad guy. The sound and artwork is pretty good, but the story is too bland in my opinion and they are always making lame plot twists that could have been more interesting. The Pokemon battles left me bored, and the new characters were boring as well. ... I did not enjoy this very much, and I thought it was a horrible way to promote the 5th generation of Pokemon. More importantly, it didn't leave me with that feeling of nostalgia that the early Pokemon movies did.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't watch this, but I'm warning you not to have high expectations as this movie is incomparable to Pokemon 2000 or Pokemon Heroes.
