NHK is a fantastic anime, highly recommended. Don't watch Clannad After Story before watching Clannad, season one. It's really important dude, that anime's not really that good without the backstory of season one to support it.
I don't really see why you can't watch anime and at the same time enjoy your other hobbies. Your age makes me guess that you're in college, which means you should have plenty of time to do all the things you like.

Well, there's plenty of great anime series that aren't 100+ episodes long like Naruto or Yugioh. You can try those ones out without having to invest too much time into them. There's actually a good selection of great animes that are only 11 episodes long.
My problem with Manga is it doesn't have built in pacing like anime does. I can easily sit down and read over 100 chapters of manga at once. This really removes a lot of the enjoyment I could have had if I took my time to enjoy the drawings, plot, and characters.
Anime is also much better because it has sound, and this is really important to me. Sound adds a new dimension of depth that cannot be felt at all in manga.
I don't understand how that is a good excuse. It's not like you had a deadline to release that super short review... Go sit down, gather your thoughts, and write an elaborate, detailed review that well justifies the points it makes. >.>
