About Yemi_Hikari
I happen to be a fan of Manga and Anime that has a good story line. I wish that more translations into English stayied truer to the text, but alas... that is not so. By truer to the text, I don't mean changes to make things run easier in our laungage, but unesessary changes.

I am also a fanfic writer, which is what my site links to. If you wish to read, due leave a review. I accept anon. reviews!

I hate it when people go and say things along the lines, if you don't follow the biased rules that I have, then you are no true fan. At times I wonder if that person is a true fan, or what is called a rabbid fan. For example...

*Some people believe that people who watch anime with the English dub, aren't true fans. However, there is the case of the fact that some people simply can't read subtitles easily, like my brother that needs to be taken into concideration. Some bad anime actually get improved in the dub version. And then there are people like me, who like to look at the art form of creating what can be concidered a good dub.
    * Some people believe that people who watch anime, and only certain anime, just so happen to not be fans of anime. I personally can't stand Lucky Star, and disagree that it is a good representation of the otaku, or slice of life. I personally think that there are far better. But I do think it can be used as a good educational tool... possibly.
    * Some people see only a certain view point, like certain pairings, or they have certain biased based on what they like, or don't like.

Thanks. I liked that one-shot as well and wanted to write a review to bring it hopefully a little more attention. :D
I should read your other reviews on manga and novels, if you have such. I desperately need a good read.

Yay, found Wasureyuki and Vahlia no Hanamuko. Sound pretty interesting.
Wooh,I am saved.

I agree. There are some stories where it is difficult to avoid spoilers since the plot is so intense. Did you like anything in 100% Perfect Girl besides the artwork? I love seeing Jarte suffer. One of my favorite scenes is when he discovers Jay's body on the ground drenched in blood and starts screaming/wailing when he believes that she was dead and that he was the one who pushed her down to her death. I guess I was supposed to feel sad or sorry for Jarte in that scene, but I didn't.

Actually, the Host is supposed to be a trilogy but it has been five years since the first book has been released. Meyers, what are you doing? Personally, I think the Host would be better off as an individual book because I am worried that it would be ruined if there are sequels to the story. Although the book series Twilight derailed over time, I heard that the last movie Breaking Dawn: Part 2 was much better than the Part 2 of the book version.

I noticed that you didn't have anything in your favorite mangas section. Have you not found any manga worthy of your satisfaction?

I literally laughed for a good two minutes at your comment, but I agree all the melodrama in 100% Perfect Girl was soap opera worthy. I actually liked that manhwa because of the character designs (so many bishies) and I kind of enjoyed seeing the main couple suffer for reasons unknown to me. What a horrible person I am. Despite Jay being your typical overprotected, easily kidnapped/traumatized/victimized heroine, I suppose I liked how she never gave up her dream of being an artist. I was totally cheering her on when she decided to leave Jarte and went to New York to start her life over. Then Clarence Edwen just had to come along and shove Jay back to her lifeless role in Jarte's arms. *cue the exaggerated, disappointed sigh* Anyways, 100% Perfect Girl is one of Wann's more famous works, but if you really want to see a good manhwa by Wann, you should read "Why Do You Love Me?" The female lead has a personality, can take care of herself, and doesn't take crap from anybody. She's awesome.

I just read your review of the manhwa. I liked how your pointed out the factual inconsistencies of the story (the whole earlobe thing was hilarious) and all the Twilight references. There were some spoilers in your review so you might want to put a spoiler alert warning or avoid them completely in your future reviews.

Have you read anything else interesting lately? Oh and speaking of Twilight, have you read/seen Stephanie Meyers's "The Host" book/movie? I haven't seen the movie, but I have read the book, which I must say is much better than her Twilight series.

You're welcome! By the way, I love your pokemon picture. XD It's a Bonsly right? I noticed you just finished 100% Perfect Girl. What are your thoughts on that manhwa?

tiffanyhng | 01-21-14, 12:58 AM
I love your Manatsu no Mermaid review. It was brilliant. It summed up my feelings towards that manga completely. Harlequin mangas generally tend to be soap opera cheesy so it is very rare to find one that somewhat decent. If you wish to read a mildly decent Harlequin, you should check out Mahou no Kagami ni Sasayaite.

It was a true shame cause I really liked the start but what can you do

mrlance228 | 06-30-13, 3:44 PM
I totally agreed with your devil survivor 2 review I really enjoyed the anime at the start but towards the end I didnt enjoy it as much

Kiniest | 06-28-13, 7:43 AM
Yeah. To be honest, the anime is probably one of the worst adaptations to exist for anything, period.

bakuenjincamillo | 06-27-13, 9:50 PM
Nice Valvrave review. My thoughts exactly.

Kiniest | 06-27-13, 4:38 PM
Incorrect. Devil Survivor 2 is not at all faithful to the game. Good review nonetheless.
