Manga compatibility with Yamine is:

My Username ‘Yamine’ can be pronounced two ways: Yammin and Yaminé, both of which derive from my real name Yasmin (No brainer)
I've been into anime/manga for about a year now, since Oct 2008, Death Note being the anime that got me hooked.
How I rate anime/manga
I basically rate it on a 5-star system. So,
1-5 - Do not bother
6-10 - Recommend

Lol, it did more than amuse me. It entertained me too ;) and that means it was a good read as well as a good review. I do really want to watch Ouran as I've seen some amv's on it that made it look cute. But it's just one of those shows I'm going to be pushing back since I have these urges to watch random shows next :P.

I just read your review. It was fun to read :). And I'm curious about the bananas :P

You shouldn't worry about the length. I think that's the least of your worries when it comes to writing a review. Just don't push yourself in writing it and it should come out fine. Most of my reviews were forced which is what I hate about them. A review should sound natural.

Yeah, TTGL is just not for me. I'm still trying to pound my way through it even so. It's too cartoony for me... it feels really immature and it just puts me off. The second I think I might be starting to like it, my expectations are crushed. I'm one of the very few people who don't like it. Heck, Code Geass is just as popular but has far more people who hate it. At least that's the way it seems.
The best way to go into something is with no expectations, so try not to get too excited about it. DtB is definitely a different style of story-telling. It threw me off at first, but I came to love it. As for PoT, you definitely want to drop it if you weren't interested right off the bat. It's not really going to get any more exciting, if anything it'll just get repetitive and less realistic. It literally has DBZ moments, but the more you watch the more frequent they become. It's an extremely long series as well... too long even if you do like it.
I wanted to learn Go after watching HnG as well. I haven't really kept playing, though I felt I needed to at least know the basics of the game more to help me understand the anime. It did help a lot. The thing about PoT is that I already had been playing some tennis, it just kicked me into high gear after watching it. Luckily, you can go online for Go though. Don't be worried about clubs or anything, they are fun, but it gets very competitive. For tennis, we can't just improve to beat other teams. We have to beat our own team members to determine rankings and who gets to play what seed, doubles and singles. I'm having a hard time finding a hitting partner these days, too.

Yeah I know how that goes. At one point I used to have a review for the Detective Conan anime and it made me seem like an idiot... the more you love it, the harder it is to write...

The main character(Hei, who wears the mask) is actually a lot like V from "V for Vendetta". I loved that movie. Anyways, he's so mysterious that we never know all about him, and he's pretty dang cool. It's really confusing in the beginning because they don't explain the characters AT ALL. You basically are stuck in a story which has no exposition. It's as if you started reading a manga 1/3 of a way through and they assume you already know all about everyone. People are killing each other off with supernatural abilities and you're still trying to find out who the main cast is.
I definitely see Death Note when I'm reading Bakuman. TTGL is about drills I guess, but I just don't know. The show is brainwash and I am immune.
It was 3 or 4 years ago when we both kinda played tennis but my brother was never motivated to get better. We had been watching some anime but weren't huge fans, though when I found PoT I had to show him cause I thought it was just awesome. It got him to finally agree to practice with me more, and we even got one of his friends who was really good to play with us as well. We were somewhat addicted to tennis at that time, so it didn't matter what the weather was like. We just wanted to play and get better. My brother has gone and lost all of his motivation, and I am not as gung-ho as I used to be. I want to practice more, but all of my tennis friends have graduated for the most part and I don't have many chances to improve.

They are now to the final round of the Chunin exam. Actually all but the last battle has taken place. I may watch the filler too. But I'll be watching another anime at the same time so I don't go insane. Maybe Mushishi, then Azumanga, Cowboy Bebob, and Code Geass. However many it takes til I finish the filler.

Hahaha, I like that. Yeah, I didn't have that great of a feeling from the first episode. I totally see where you are coming from. From what I saw, not only were the conversations boring, but they were so incredibly long. The characters are hideous, and although that isn't something that shouldn't hurt the overall enjoyment... well it certainly doesn't help. I wasn't even keeping my hopes high for it, but I figured I would try it again some time. I'm not so sure anymore, to be honest.
I'm liking Bakuman, it's pretty interesting. The whole concept of two kids trying to become mangaka is kinda so-so, but the whole industry is depicted with a lot of realism. The character interactions are great, too.
I see you put Darker than Black on your PtW. I hope you enjoy it, and I'm thinking you will. As for TTGL, I still have no idea what's up with that anime, I can't even begin to speculate what you'll think of it. xD
What do you think of Prince of Tennis? My thought has always been that people will see it as just weird. Unless they actually like tennis, in which case they will probably think it's pretty cool. Hey, the only reason I was able to get my brother to practice with me some years ago was because I showed him the anime. We would play when it was pouring down rain, when leaves covered the courts, and even once while it was snowing! You tend to ruin your tennis balls really fast playing in those conditions, though...

That's pretty neat. I'm glad people like it. :)
You didn't waste my time, sorry I couldn't be of more help!

The NGE manga is actually faily easy to follow, I wasn't really confused with what was going on but here's the thing: If you take long breaks between reading a chunk of chapters and don't come back to it for at least a month or more, you're most likely going to get lost. So I suggest consistently reading it to prevent confusion.
And thanks for the feedback on my reviews. That's always nice to get. Once a get a moment I'll take some time to read all of your reviews. I plan on writing more reviews but I've had issues lately with writing...

I wouldn't say I'm a harsh critic but so far nothing has been perfect to me. I used to just freely give tens but I realized I was being too easy with ratings.
I see you write reviews. That's something we both have in common.

I've been thinkin' about checking out Prince of Tennis but the length stops me... haha.
Cross Over is okay... it has a decent enough plot to make it fairly entertaining, but it's nothing exciting, it's actually somewhat dull. Still decent enough to finish though.

Oh by the way you wouldn't happen to know of any good sports manga/anime would you?
