I said it crashed and burned. This is a metaphor for how it attempted to do too much and failed because of that.

I didn't go "out of my way to emphasize how unbelievably terrible thought it was". I said it was shit. That's a simple offhand comment. I use it very casually and so do most people. There isn't a fraction the amount of emphasis you're pretending I used.

It was none of those three options, it should have been obvious given the context that it was for the sake of comparison. Nonetheless, I don't think it was unreasonable for Tomoki to assume the third option. But his reaction was wrong, even if it HAD been the third option. The correct response would be to say it was a bit uncalled for or overly harsh, or to ask why I had that opinion. Neither one of those would have resulted in the absolute clusterfuck that actually happened. He launched a personal attack on my taste (the exact thing you accused me of), and there is no excuse for that.

I could redirect all these suspicions of agenda back at you, as a matter of fact.

"Crashed and burned" is not strong language. "Shit" might be, although certainly not to the degree you're insinuating, but that was said AFTER Tomoki made an ad hominem attack.

So I'm not allowed to say I dislike a show (the terms used are irrelevant, don't even start on that), but when Tomoki then tells me that I'm "just forcibly looking for things to dislike", a PERSONAL SLANDER, ONE THAT IS NOT EVEN ME PROJECTING PERSONAL SLANDER, AN ACTUAL OBJECTIVE INSULT, this is totally fine.

True. A whole lot is happening in CG, and what's the most important, it is presented in an extremely strong way. Strong series are often hard to put into words.
