I'm into... mystery, thrillers, overlapping realities, social commentary, communication, strong-willed female leads, relaxed tacticians, situational realism, honest comedy, monomyth re-tellings, historical stuff, hot-blooded quotes, technical realism, big character casts, naive without being lame, complex meanings, engrish (it's funny... D:), people that get the stuff done (unlike me, obviously).
I'm NOT into... absolute evils, otaku-centrism, moé~moé~, looks over substance, convenient villains (see absolute evils), sexualized kids, excessive melodrama, things with fillers, improvised plot devices, fanservice, too childish characters designs, reviving main characters (even if it happens on a third-rate TV anime), studio-centrism.

June 27, 2009.-The Legend ends, and History begins.
Hello again and thanks for the comment and the new year wishes (which I extend to you in return :P).
About Elfen Lied and LOGH, I have to say I completely agree with you. The reason why I gave Elfen Lied a score of 1/10 (which I rarely ever do) is because I thought the creators of the show were being extremely dishonest (and there is nothing I hate more than hypocrisy).
About those low scores, well, yes, I won't deny I have been told, quite a few tilmes, that I was rather harsh. However, I always try to give a show the highest possible score because I truly respect anyone who contributes to the creation of a work of art. I think I'm just taking the MAL rating definition literally (I mean, 7/10 means good!). Anyway, I am quite a bit older than most people on this site so that might be a reason too (you know, the elderly... always complaining ;) ).
I just re-read your profile and I realise I am into most of what you're "into" and that I'm not into all that you're "not into"! So here's to having found a kindred spirit! Cheers!
Thanks a bunch. Trapeze was my Fall favorite too, but it's an overlooked gem. A few of my friends started watching it with me and they decided they couldn't watch more after one episode. Then I saw a trend set in everywhere (sup critics, sup MAL, sup IRL). Go look on anyone who dropped Trapeze's list and there you will see that they saw only one episode. Trapeze needed a positive review before a negative one came out, so I hope I did the anime some justice by merely stating "watch more than one episode".
I see you watched LOGH as well. Another fine masterpiece no one bothers to watch because it's a) old as hell and b) "110 episodes oh noes". I can't believe it lost ground as number one on MAL to ~After Story~ (although amazing, it's not LOGH).
Hi, I found your profile while browsing through MAL. Pretty cool anime list you got there. It was nice to see someone else who likes LOGH and does not like Elfen Lied. :)
Lol, np, I'm used to time lapses. Good for you, I know that sense of relief that comes after dealing with official duties, sometimes you get so excited about sudden free time, you simply can't figure out what to do.
Bake is easy question, it's way overhyped, that's for sure. My initial reaction was very positive towards it, thus my initial score stays there, it'll probably go down to 5-6 after I finish it. Storywise it's basic, there are tons of shows that runs the same scheme. It's style is refreshing, I'm not only talking about the geometric visuals that looks impressive at first, it's determined and clean all along the direction department. Since there are so few shows that are distinctly directed, I valued this in the beginning. 5-6 episodes later the magic has worn off and bare backbone of the story couldn't hold it together. I don't want to speculate on why most liked it, I only have some sketchy idea, easygoing, clean, erotically arousing...I dunno.
My expectations of Trapeze was really high due to Mononoke. First glimpse I had problems with it, I didn't like all the pop art meshed together with hallucinogenic imagery and rotoscoping. Door popper (I call him that, they guy that pops to explain psychological terms of the episode) and the nurse annoyed me. These still hold, but every episode it gets better introducing interesting situations and characters, now I'm used to it.
About the content, this is black comedy, sour and sweet, while having fun I try not to forget the ring of truth in the situations. Yeah Irabu's treatment is pure comedy, he provokes the patients to explode so hard that they have no choice but to run along, hit the barrier and come in terms with reality. His character is coming to flesh with new details every episode. His constant shifts between id,ego, superego is weird (I'm just speculating about Irabu's phases being the Freudian counterparts of the psyche, we'll see if it holds true) . The nut, the child and the sage :).
By the way check Aoi Bungaku Series first 4 episodes in case you didn't come by that show.
Aw yeah I know, that's too bad. :< Oberstein's VA also died a while ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if others did, too (there were so many VAs after all, lol).
Sounds good, I'm looking forward to watching it. I'd like to learn more about Yang's past, as we weren't really told much in the main series, now that I think about it... The gaidens are kinda like long, detailed, better-animated flashbacks of the main series. :3
Thanks. Dennou is still -coming- so to speak :). But I'm already interested, at least with the visual style for now.
Never knew someone from Chile. I felt ashamed knowing nearly nothing about it so checked from wiki. The coastal shape and regional structure of your country interested me. I would love to hear how life is over there sometime..
