That's what happens I guess when you have people who can genuinely get a long rather than those who only do it to glorify their own opinions. It seems like it's taking a dip in quality too. I can't help but laugh.

When you put it like that, I'd have to agree. I'm just glad we don't have to wait long to see Korra's recovery. That's by far more interesting than anything else from last season.

Oh snap, crackle, pop new Korra season starts next month.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. Because it feels like they just want it off the channel.

If you're interested, my new podcast is up for listening.

Truly powerful stuff. The somber note it left on was really unexpected. Now Korra is questioning her very existence as the Avatar now that she's not only seriously wounded from battle, but also emotionally as well. With so many people wanting to kill her and make her not exist, she's reached her breaking point. It really makes me anticipate the beginning of next season. Because this is first time Korra has ended with her more or less defeated than her usual "I beat the bad guy and world is safe again" ending.

The way they took out Boom Boom girl was pretty crazy and dark for a kids show. Badass nonetheless.

Yeah, I like him as a lavabender a lot better.

It'll be interesting to see what Jinora does from here. I'm surprised she shaved off all of her hair. She may be a key player in the final season.

The animation and fighting choreography in that final episode were second to none. Clearly the best ever shown in the avatar franchise. It just blew me away, along with everything else. I can't wait to get my hands on the blu rays. Such a powerfully emotional season. Clearly on a darker level too. Quite possibly the best season yet. However I don't think Zaheer was nearly as good as a villain as Amon. Although Zaheer was pretty good.

Also the Red Lotus will be a huge part of next season, I think the emphasized that hard enough. They could be anywhere in the world. I'm expecting a world war to break out as the series finale.

Heh, there were a couple stretches that I coulda left off, but I legitimately have watched most everything within the last five years at the most, and remember them well.

Hmmm...I expected to have a higher compatibility rate with you.

The bane of Titan is its characters, really. It tried to make us feel emotional for a character that everyone really didn't even know existed, or barely knew. Hell, I don't remember him except for his death scene last week, and this is my second time seeing the show. It does that way too often, it attempts to make us feel for characters we have little to no connection to. And after half a season of doing that, we've become practically immune to it, which makes the show lose it's feel of hopelessness. Better examples would be Levi's squad when they die. We got to know them, and their deaths had much more of an impact. Even though their characters were bland as well in my opinion. However, I do find both characters of Levi and Captain whatshisface breaths of fresh air to the show when it desperately needed it. Because they weren't screaming man A or woman B. They know the stakes and have the experience of battle. But I had to agree with Steven, this guy's death really had no impact to anyone since we really didn't see him much.

Well it comes with bias. And it happens to all of us. But I agree, I think their definition of "good animation" changes depending on the situation.

Well Korra this week was beyond epic. And I think Tenzin got the fight he deserved, in terms of actually showing his stuff. He really hasn't done too much in the past two seasons. And hell, even his daughter says he isn't a good bender. Well he did a hell of a lot better than anyone else in the show fighting off the Red Lotus. I'm glad they did that for him. The animation in THAT was astounding. THAT is good animation. I'm still not a big fan of Kai yet, regardless of what he does.

Well, it happens I guess. I'd like to think I'm bound for something better. The Toonami United guys have offered me a writing position, as well as to be a part of their podcast they plan to make. As for who is doing what, I don't know who, nor do I care who. And yeah, I always knew that they all sort of had the same opinions on everything, which is sort of why I wanted Joey to hop on, since he was a little different than they were. He made things more interesting than what we had. I'll admit Steven was fine with his opinion, I think his added a lot to the podcast, but as for Syon and Chugg, Syon's wasn't all that different and Chugg was nothing but a Steven clone. I could count maybe one time where he had different thoughts from Steven.

But I guess it really isn't my problem anymore. Although, since Joey is already a writer for Toonami United he's also joining that podcast as well. So we'll see how that goes.

Looking forward to Korra tomorrow though. Really hard to believe we only have a few episodes left of this season, then only one more season to go. It'll be a sad day when this series ends, or even the franchise for that matter.

I'll admit, I wasn't really a fan of her when she first was introduced. But after all the things she's went through and how she's handled it, I really like her character because of it. I feel like she's a strong, confident, independent woman, without giving off that pretentious vibe most characters like that emit. Which is a really good thing.

True, I would take Lavabending over metal. Or how about both? Either way, Bolin needs some loving, and they always fail to give it to him.

Oh yeah, I bet I wasn't the only one. But I've always thought about it when people talk about sub-elements. I'm just glad air is getting more love, despite how dark it is.

Lol, why do you think I left long ago? For the sake of my sanity.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree there. People bandwagoned to the most verbal group. It's a common thing honestly, but despicable nonetheless. I refuse to believe there are THAT many OP lovers and Naruto haters. Naruto is one of the most popular anime in America, as well as Toonami. There's just no way that all of them have the same taste. Same with Blue Exorcist. It's really popular, and highly ranked by a lot of people. So it's probably the same situation. I liked BE up to the point of filler. I may pick up the manga and sort of ignore the existence of that filler. I thought the concept was cool, and I enjoyed a number of the characters.

On a sadder note, I'm probably leaving the podcast for good. Last night Steven and I got into it. I figured that even though we disagreed on something, I never thought it would go as far as it did with him, especially with all his name calling. Chugg chimed in once and a while, but we usually ignored him. I wanted to do one thing, and Steven thought I was being a dictator about it, and continued to say I was never the "leader" of the podcast. And contends I act like I have "authority" over them, which I never have. But apparently doing virtually everything for the podcast doesn't amount to shit to them. So long story short, I'm apparently an egotistical cunt that thinks I have authority when I don't. And I guess they had "boiling frustrations" over the past few months that they never talked to me about, but instead talked to each other about and left me in the dark. I eventually just apologized so the argument would end, he also apologized as well. But after what was said, I have no desire to return. It's unfortunate, because we all worked hard to get it where it is now. And I just hate how it's going to end. I feel like a year's worth of work just flushed down the toilet.

Todd_ | 08-08-14, 9:25 PM
So wow, a lot to take in this week. Asami taking charge this week. I loved it. I feel like she's a really underutilized character, and she has a lot of potential in the show.

I'm really pissed how they treated Bolin, again. THAT was his chance to be the hero and get some good development from metal bending and saving Mako and the prisoners. But no, they just throw him in the gutter, as usual. At least it feels like he'll have other chances to metal bend in the future. I hope he will.

I THOUGHT OF WHAT ZAHEER DID. Seriously. I thought that an airbender could take the air around someone's head and suffocate them. IM SO GLAD THEY FINALLY SHOWED IT. But man that was dark.

So I've been keeping up with the trainwreck that is the toonami faithful podcast thread. Jackassman's hypocrisy continues to be utterly hilarious.

Todd_ | 08-05-14, 8:18 PM
I'm really loving Index. I'm on 15 now. It looks like the second season will be released with the dub soon, so I'm hoping I can finish season 1 and Railgun then just go straight to that.

Also Korra was really awesome. The fight was intense. My God, I love this season.

Todd_ | 07-27-14, 9:05 PM
Good to know. I guess we at least get to see the episodes early.

A marvelous example, actually. Apparently that's both funny and a smart idea, instead of being insanely stupid. On that subject, the post about One Piece you made in the thread made by Luuv was gold. That whole forum is a biased OP circle jerk. Yet many of them deny any real "problems" that forum has.

Anyway, [C] turned out to be pretty good. But as everyone else says, the ending wasn't the greatest. I'd like to chalk it up to, no one knows what the future has in store, hence why the ending was sort of vague. Although, I really loved Mashu. I hated how he started viewing her as a possible daughter than as a lover. God dammit. I wished there was an OVA to give us a bit more closure though.

The other things that I want on Toonami but I'm holding out on them are:
Birdy the Mighty
Psycho Pass

I think I had others, but they escape me.

Todd_ | 07-27-14, 1:11 PM
Really really high quality stuff this week (last week). The animation looked gorgeous as well as the beautifully choreographed fights. After that episode, I find it even more laughable they're pulling it.

So I went to my state's con yesterday. Got a pretty good haul. I also bought [C] Control on blu ray. As you know it was one of those shows that I wanted to wait and see on Toonami instead, but I gave in and bought it. I'm really liking it. But now that I watch it, it seems a little too expositiony for Toonami fans. They'd just bitch.

Todd_ | 07-24-14, 8:08 PM
Yeah I'll be honest, I'm extraordinarily pissed off about this. They literally just gave a giant "fuck you" to the creators, the fans, and the entire franchise of Avatar. It's utterly ridiculous. Hell, we probably should've seen it coming. They were airing two episodes a fucking week. It's obvious they wanted it off TV as soon as possible.

Todd_ | 07-20-14, 9:27 PM
Also, I started watching Index yesterday. I'm on episode 4 now. BUT. In episode 3, when the John Page thing? turned on with Index, she said July 20th at 8:30 pm. Guess when I was watching it? July 20th 8:20 pm. I literally freaked the hell out. It was so awesome.

Anyway, I'm liking it a lot better now, it's easier to understand in the dub, and I'm liking the voice cast for the dub as well.
