Yeah, the director of Last Exile seems like reusing back Season 1 plot point :/ The Grand Exile is certainly interesting but doesn't explain much and the Grand Race last episode is just still life frame, I was dropping my jaw LOL after all Fam keep saying about the Race thorough the entire show.
If I recall from wiki reading, the world building/concept is kinda designed by Range Murata and then the story writing is done by the director? But yeah, I wish for Season 3 but seems like it is impossible because Gonzo got bankrupt and their flagship Last Exile didn't do well in Season 2 too...
Anyway, the last episode of Last Exile (Season 1) is already perfect for me. Also, did they explain how Dio become sane back in Season 2, I guess he turned normal back after knowing Lucciola is dead on Season 1? But yeah I like how Dio at the final episode of the season look at the navigator seat and said let's go Lucciola.

Did you buy Season 2 too?? Season 2 lost some of the mystery/charms of the first season for me :((( But still, music is phenomenon
One thing I was confused tho, is Last Exile: Sunadokei no Tabibito even canon? Because Claus becomes crippled by the end of Season 2 whereas in the manga which is the continuation of Season 1, he is still able to flight and all that lol. Many people said he got crippled due to accident in last few episodes of Season 1, so the manga continuation kinda doesn't make sense :/ Unless I misread something
That's amazing! Did you have any other merchandise of Last Exile? I just happened to find out about Last Exile through a Dark Soul YouTuber channel profile lol, who the character is Dio. I seriously thought Dio is a girl the whole time before I check Wikia, then again I thought Lucciola is a female until somewhere in the latest episode they mentioned about their past /.\

Haha did you rewatch Last Exile during these 7 years? I really like the mystery about the Exile and its grand reveal, the end is also very cinematic. The show looks like 2010 anime, can't believe it is 2003 lol. I love the Over the Sky ed too, freaking amazing, listen to it every now and then!
