Psh I mean you can watch whatever you want, but Ergo Proxy is definitely VERY different than anything you've seen before. You might want to break out your Philosophy notes before watching it.
If you want variation, I can also recommend a few shows that are a little outside your traditional spectrum.
Gankutsuou is great.
Nichijou (My Ordinary Life) is excellent.
You still need to watch Evangelion.
Ergo Proxy is also great. Its been a few years since I've seen it thought.

Speaking of which, Funimation is rereleasing Ergo Proxy on DVD. You can pick it up from Rightstuf for ~24 atm. I might do that.
