Did I like the simple story line and the plain old trop of being super strong OP in another world... yes I enjoyed it quite a bit, its not a hard story to comprehend and its easy to breeze through if you are not looking for something serious in an anime.

Here is what I like about the anime, the Easter eggs. Yes I said Easter eggs as there are some characters from other series that appear in the back ground. I just found another one today and I have re watched this series multiple times... And I still find new characters. This one was ... in Ep 5 , the other one I found was in Ep 3. its not like I know every character in every series but I find it interesting when I see other characters I recognize. I gave this series an 8 and some may find it a high score but at the time I was watching this Had been declared dead the year before and I made it back to the land of the living.

So something like this does appeal to me.

Would I recommend it.. I would like to say yes but to a seasoned anime watcher this would be a disappointment to them. to someone starting in this gendra it was a fun watch.

The all mighty powerful MC, the MC from another world… Ok not a new and interesting topic in the least but this one is a lot of fun to watch. For the pure enjoyment of the story and the facial expressions that the characters give us makes this anime worth it.

For the people that get hung up to the fact that it is echii I would say this is how it is and to move on if it’s not your thing. You’ve seen one echii anime you have seem them all as the saying goes. Some people will like that it is echii others ... not.

The character development in this one is a gem. I like how the MC is portrayed in his home world and then just how the skills he had are transposed to the new world. And honestly I love the artist who is drawing the MC. The facial expressions make me laugh out loud. Even the way the character was written is funny. Have I said I really like this MC…

The art work is decent, the fight scenes are good and the GOD mode of the MC is to be expected. This is only Ep 4 but I can’t wait to see more. It was an anime I knew nothing about so it was a nice find for the summer season 2018.

My one guilty pleasure this season. I have to say that this series I had no clue what it was about. And man does it ever not disappoint when it comes to character development. It is not as complex as other series but you do get a good feel for everyone that is the main character roles.

You also get that all important how the main character crosses from one world to another. Something that this type of genre sometimes lack.

Diablo is such a funny character when you consider who he truly is in one world versus another. A shut in in one world and an all-powerful true Demon Lord in another. What I love about his anime is the facial expressions of the characters and how they react to situations that they are put into. I don't want to spoil any of it but that Demon Lord has made me literally laugh out loud a few times.

And yes there will be haters due to the fact that the series is echii but to those I say if this is not your cup of tea then move on and Watch something else. There is plenty to watch this summer 2018 season.

I have already re-watched this like 4-5 times thus far per episode and we are only on episode 4. Glad I decided to give this a whirl this season. Now you as a reader may not agree with what I wrote and I respect that just like I would respect anyone calling this series a piece of crap that has been rehashed a thousand different ways already. So if you read this review and think that I am completely wrong as it is not your view then it is what it is. This series was not for you. Others will enjoy it for what it is.

As per my rating system on Mal I am scoring this very high which if you look at my scores as an average I do not do very often. I am giving this anime an 86 just for the sheer enjoyment that I am getting out of it.

So I know I ranked the anime the way I saw it and especially compared to the other seasons previous to this one. First of all I want to go on record that if the anime art had been the same throughout the scoring would have been very different. But as we had 3 seasons and some OVA's that I consider way better in art form thus this season ranks very mediocre for me.

There is a scene where we pan across all the members of the occult club and honestly if you ... look at the faces everyone has the same eyes nose and mouth.. That said I did love the story line and found that it had it's same type of flow as in the first few seasons. The characters though lost a lot of appeal to me as they all seem to be the same facial expression wise.

I stand tall and say we all appreciate that we have a season 4 I would go as far as to say we are thrilled to have it. But could the new studio have not followed the art style that was already there with maybe a few tweaks here and there. Someone commented as well that if the art style had been like this since the start that no one would be complaining; and I say that is a very true statement but it's not. To switch the style so dramatically for the 4th season is a turn off for a lot of people even if this is more representative of the LN. I have not read the LN so the anime is my reference point; at that the first 3 seasons are my reference point, so this is a shock to my eyes. Could the new studio not just have done Ep zero in the old art style and recant what the LN intended?

Those are some major character changes. Granted I know we have a new studio but Holy Cow Batman.
The voice acting was spot on and as many have said the story follows the LN to a "T" . I have not read it so I will take other peoples word on that. There was so much change in the art style that we lost a lot of the characters essence I believe in this season.

I know I sound like a broken record by now but honestly the series was a disappointment to me. I would tell the people that run the show to go and search out yet another new studio that have very similar artist to the first few seasons and give them a whirl. The studio just does not cut it.

... So this is my second run at this anime with almost 3 years apart from the first watch. I have to say that it is still just as impressive the second time around. Luckily for me I only remember a few scenes here and there.

I have to say that not many animes I have seen actually kill off characters especially not ones that we have grown to love but this anime Kills off 2 of the supporting characters within about 8 episodes of this show.

It's not like you are rooting for the good guys or the bad guys here as the bad guys are suppose to be the good guys in a robin hood esk type of way.)

I flew through 12 episodes in 2 days and will most likely finish this in a few days. I still rank this anime very high.

Oh and the one sided Love affair between Esdeath and the protagonist is just great...So here we are a few days later and I have finished the series. I have to say that I truly did not remember what would happen so it was like a brand new watching for me.

So as you would expect from this type of anime many of the main characters end up dying. I am talking about the good and the bad side. Certain characters I took more to heart about there dying then others.

The final scenes with Esdeath was one of love but also of sorrow as Tatsumi has already died after saving a crowed of people. Esdeath goes to him after being fatally wounded and takes his limp body in her hands and oppresses it on her then she erects an ice barrier which shatters into a million pieces.

A romantic gesture and one that is the only way for Esdeath to be with Tatsumi in the end as Tatsumi would have never converted to the good side as I like to call it.

Will I watch this again most likely I will but not for a long while as I have this series fresh in my head. Its not like HS DxD or Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? that I can watch over and over again for the sheer enjoyment and the comedy.

I am still scoring this a solid 7.8 on my scale and I still stand by my initial comment made in 2015

"who do you root for??".

There are 2 political sides intertwined here and people will be on opposite sides of the fence.
