I first started watching anime when I was around 11 I think, my friend decided to show me naruto, I got to episode 200 or something and eventually dropped it. I then took a year long break, and started to watch bleach, I never really got far with this anime, had some sort of traumatic experience while I was watching it and it put me right off lol, after which I spent about 3-4 years mocking and generally hating anime, until about a year ago my somewhat perverted friend decides to show me To-Love-Ru (I love/hate him for getting me back into anime!) I watch it, read the manga and I'm basically hooked again, I was into ecchi/romance anime for a very long time, until the whole ecchi thing lead me to elfen lied, my first gory anime :D I pretty much feel in love with the whole horror/psychological/tragedy genre, and even after getting hit by a car and losing pretty much all of my memories I still remember the story :) I've been lead to many different sorts of anime since, and tbh I'm not a fan of the whole one peace, naruto sort of anime I like fairly twisted and tragic anime, which is very odd as I am quite a happy person :P as far as I know none of my friends know I watch anime/read manga and I don't plan on telling them any time soon. Would be happy to chat to people about anime/manga I mean I don't exactly have any friends who are into it, so it can get a little lonely not having anyone to relate to with this sort of thing :) (Oh yah and I am still fairly new to the whole anime thing, and have not really explored many genres, so feel free to recommend some stuff :p )

I was like you at first too,refusing to watch any anime :p Then I watched Honey and Clover and I was hooked. Such a goddamn beautiful anime. I dunno about Monster,I heard it got favorable reviews but never got around to actually watching it because it's too freaking long for me. I suggest you watch

Well,I'm not really sure actually. I loved Higurashi,but I'm also fond of anime like Honey and Clover,The Law of Ueki,Mitsudomoe,Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai,etc. I see you just finished Steins;Gate. How was it? It's one of my personal favourites,everything about it is great. The characters,the plot,even the OVA is great. It has everything I need-suspense,comedy,romance. Oh,make sure to watch the OVA as well! :)
