Welp I watched a whole lot of Demon Slayer lol. It's a pretty typical shounen story but with over 9000 animation budget levels because Ufotable being Ufotable. Fun to watch if you want to shut your brain off and enjoy the pretty colors.
Btw, is this this new MAL feature of commenting on what other people watch? lol
Also, glad you are also the type of person to realize there is no objectivity in art. I've also dug into it already quite a bit and also reached the conclusion that it's all subjectivity, and as you say, focusing on different aspects of the piece of art. And it's also based on beliefs we already have: For example I thought Koe no Katachi was pretty realistic because I believe people act like them, while you didn't (I read your review).
And, indeed, other people having "different priority/standard/background."
I like your opinions btw because you try to be honest and be realistic, when most anime fans are swept by emotions (even me). Even when you first talked about my review (which greatly criticized the anime) you didn't criticize me, when that's what anime fans would be quickest to do. Like, nice. :0
I think I will be rewriting my review as it really did reduce the situation too much. You have convinced me.
I know that some people in the world really end up making these difficult choices to sell vital things, but an anime making a statement about this is still very uninteresting. It is a complaint, a protest, that was made into an animated form so that a few people will see it. In reality, many people are aware of the horrible circumstances of certain people in the world, including myself. I don't think it's interesting that a Japanese animation put it on the screen. I already know it's a huge problem and I hope it will be solved as well. It still really is a theme that has painfully obvious answers and solutions to them (care and effort from the rich and better laws).
Taking all that into account, I think I'll improve my review to be more subtle.. This is an important theme, and I'll argue that it is very uninteresting. I just laughed out loud by the way. I can't believe I want to argue that something is uninteresting when it was to others.. I am being a little ridiculous. But I strive to be honest. It is uninteresting to me, and I don't believe presenting the theme works as something to spread awareness either.
But thanks dude for your thoughts.
Do you mean the whole situation (world) that was contrived so that the anime can say “Selling my child, specifically their body - bad and sad.”? This world that certainly has no relation to reality and simply exists to raise questions that aren't important or have painfully obvious answers to them?
This was my first review, and i just wrote what came to mind and i thought it was already too big and starting to get repetitive. (And English is not my language so it was very tiring to write this)
Actually I only did it because of the MAL reviews giving 10 and speaking as if it were a absolute masterpiece, it was more of an criticize against those reviews that in my opinion do not match the anime I watched XD
No real story to it, just thought it looked cool.^^
How are you? Still watching anime?
I actually know Chuck Huber more as the voice of Pilaf from Dragon Ball rather than 17 but he's voiced a lot of characters I recognize actually.
As for specific questions, I'd be interested to know what it was like voicing Hiei for Yu Yu Hakusho, how he and the other voice actors got along, how the work environment was.
