What's up yo?
Kyuubey Jan 18, 2014 7:34 PM
Yeah you'd have to pretty much be a pyschopath to not be affected by it, haha. It's just like you said with Afterstory you could be having the best day ever and than watch and feel like shit.

How's Kill la Kill so far? I haven't been keeping up with it lately.
Kyuubey Jan 11, 2014 12:30 PM
Ahh I always mean to reply sooner but I get sidetracked.

I thought it was pretty close to the same. They were a couple things changed in the end that might have made it a little cooler otherwise not so much.

I loved Grave of the Fireflies, I was only able to watch it a couple and was emotionally wrecked for at least a week afterwards the first. After that you come to realize that
Kyuubey Jan 6, 2014 3:52 PM
Off the top of my head, I would suggest the rest of the stuff by Makoto Shinkai as well as Summer Wars, Millennium Actress, and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. There are more out there but I haven't seen that many of them.

The Gurren Lagann movies were essentially remakes yeah, although there were a few things that they changed.
Kyuubey Jan 1, 2014 6:37 PM
I actually haven't seen the movie yet but I have it so I just need to get around to it. I basically know some of the plot to it already from some spoilers I read when it was first released in theatres.

I liked the second season. It was more of the same just in a different part of the world. There were also a couple new characters involved as well. The movie was good too so you should watch that when you finish S2.

Happy New Year as well haha

I agree with your sentiments about Mami. Although she never has been focused on much to begin with. The producers probably figured it was best to keep it that way. At least she has Nagisa.

My favorite parts would have to be when Suzu finds out who her father is and probably after the "second" time that Suzu went back in time and it turns out that she didn't actually kill herself this time. Oh and how the Metal Upa was the key to everything that was great.

Merry Belated Christmas btw. Hope you had a good one.

Mainly how Homura creating the new world felt a lot like the Third Impact. The purpose of the third impact was to create a better world in which everyone lived in happily, much like Homura tried to do. However as you'll see in the scene after the credits, basically all of that somehow got fucked up (probably cause she was rejected by Madoka). I thought their fight was pretty awesome, although I preferred the end when they were all fighting to break out of the barrier.

I think there a sequel would be possible, if all the original Gainax people got back together. I don't think the time between should be a problem. I mean you mentioned Gunbuster and Diebuster. They were released 16 years apart. I personally liked Gunbuster more only because to me, it feels like the only reason they made Diebuster was so they could tie in that scene where Noriko and Kazumi come back. Although that scene was pretty cool.

So now that you have finished S;G you have to watch the movie. I guess they just released subs for it the other day.

So I saw Rebellion this last Saturday and goddamn it was awesome. It was easily comparable to EoE. It's too bad that I knew most of what happened, if I would have held out I would have been in for a real treat. It was pretty funny though, at the theatre I saw it at there was a girl in the row in front of me and from about the scene where
up until the very end she was crying.
Also the theater turned off the projector right after the credits so they didn't show the extra scene, not very happy about that.

I haven't seen High School Boys yet, but I've been meaning too.

Yeah, I think a lot of people over think things and try to make them out to be more confusing than they really are. I was watching some clips from the show the other day and I really need to get around to re-watching it. What are your final impressions? What avatar did I have? It's been so long since I've used that site.

How do you like S;G?

Kyuubey Dec 4, 2013 7:38 PM
Well it's been a while since I've seen it so I don't remember the specifics, I just remember feeling like the whole thing about Rikka's dad dying and her running away to be a little over the top. However, I read all the episode descriptions and from that perspective it seemed like it shouldn't really be forced at all and have a pretty good mixture between the comedy and drama. I might have to re-watch it.

There was something about the main female character trying to find out the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her Uncle and finding it out very early on. I think I stopped watching around that point so there's not much I could tell you about Hyouka. The visuals were good for sure.

Nichijou is hilarious. I think I liked it more than Azumanga Daioh. While Azumanga had that really dry humor with a lot of awkward silence in between, Nichijou was quite a bit more over the top.

What are your first impression on FLCL?
Kyuubey Nov 30, 2013 8:32 PM
I have seen the the op, cake song, and bits of the final fight. I can't wait for next week to see it on the big screen!

Yeah, I liked the most recent episode with Ryuuko's new transformation. Hopefully there will be a different one for each fight and a combination of all them for the next fight against Satsuki. Also, I agree I hope things start to "unravel" (nice pun) lol.

I liked it all the way till like the last couple episodes then I felt it got a little forced. That said, I will watch season 2.

Honestly, I don't remember Hyouka that well, but I do remember I kind of got bored with it so I quit watching.

Hmm..next season I will probably get into Saki Zenkoku-hen, Witch Craft Works, Chuu2 S2, Sailor Moon 2014, and LWA 2. What about you?
Kyuubey Nov 24, 2013 3:09 PM
So I went ahead and saw parts of the movie although it's hard to resist watching the whole thing. I guess it also got submitted for an Academy Award for best animated feature. It would be cool it if was finalized as a nominee.

The most recent episode kind of changed my mind. I hope things keep going at that pace because they've done it before where they make you think the pacing is going to change but then they revert back to the monster of the week thing again.

What do you think of Chuu2?
Kyuubey Nov 16, 2013 2:09 PM
Sorry for the late reply.

From what I hear there is a camrip floating around somewhere so just in case you don't want to wait you could try and find it.

It's the first three minutes.

What exactly is the plot behind KnK?

As for Kyousougiga I think I might know what's different about it. I personally haven't watched it yet but the Character Designer was Key animation on a few TTGL episodes.

So you still really like Kill La Kill huh? Personally I think it's starting to get a little boring. Then again it's only seven episodes in
Kyuubey Nov 5, 2013 8:06 PM
I hope so. They're not playing it where you live? From what I read the ending actually leaves the plot wide open for so much more. What I originally read behind what's going on Butcher and the rest of Shaft is that Butcher originally wanted to end the story with the original series but was convinced into doing a sequel. When the sequel movie was written he was convinced to change the ending. So I guess he feels like he lost creative control of the story. Today however I did come across this article:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-10-16/new-madoka-magica-show-considered-after-3rd-film

So now I'm not sure what to believe. Continued or not I guess I would be happy either way.

That's good that you're starting to like it, I've been looking for something else to follow so I might give it a go.

I haven't seen it yet, but I will soon. I actually thought it got rated well, especially in comparison to those god awful Kira OVAs. Honestly though they don't need to make anymore Higurashi or do what they did with Fate/Zero and have a different writer, director and studio.

Kyuubey Nov 1, 2013 7:20 PM
I actually like it a lot. The newest episode was awesome, definitely a different atmosphere, hopefully it continues in that direction. It's hilarious how they relate everything to being naked also.

Unfortunately I have. I couldn't resist looking it up, which sucks because I'm going to see it in theaters in December as well. Hopefully it still lives up to the hype, it should be a totally different experience watching it as opposed to reading about it. Also, I guess Urobutcher is not interested in writing anymore of the story concerning Homura and Madoka so it will be interesting to see how Shinbo and Shaft continue it because lord knows they're going to milk for all it's worth. I wouldn't really mind seeing an ultimate showdown either.

How's Kyoukai no Kanata?
