Man, I can't beat this one story mission. I don't know if you finished them all but it's the one where you play as a Hyena and have to go through the sewers without being noticed by any beagles. I can get pretty far after a billion tries but then I'm just fucked near the end.

Man, MP is much harder. You get the same amount of food and all that so that's already an issue if you're not split as one playing an herbivore and one playing a carnivore. But even then the normal issues show up anyway - but aside that the biggest problem I'd say is that it's sort of made way unfair.
When you get a zone, the mate choices are entirely random, both will be just player 1's race, or player 2's, even if you're the same animal the other mate disappears once you pick one like single player anyway.
And this can end up with player 1 getting the mates again and again and you ending up dying of age. Plus, each zone still only gives the one mate and so you have to cover twice the ground and spend twice the time just trying to mate. We tried everything to force it to be the P1 or P2's mates, but all our ideas didn't actually work.
Basically, they didn't think over some stuff for MP and just figured it'd work fine - and instead it makes it impossible.
Only nice thing is you get 4 revives that you can use if one of you dies...but these run out super fast from the food issues and mating problems so they are kinda useless.

Yeah, for some reason I really want to try out the croc, every time I run into one it rapes me no matter what animal I am and I want to see how it looks when you have kids, sense they lay eggs and all. Plus having a herd of crocodiles will be hilarious.

That's kinda cheating, but I guess it's a good idea if you want to try for 999 years. My brother is home from work for about a week, so far he just played it his first time today and we did multiplayer and made it 54 years. I was a deer and there wasn't shit for plants anywhere so I got screwed by year like 35.
I still don't have much unlocked, for some reason I'm having a huge problem with the pig, like I die within a few years no matter what when I survive way longer pretty easily with everything else. And the retriever I make it to the ~40 years and always end up dying to the Tosa boss, so never unlock it.

I tried surviving as long as possible for awhile but then I started focusing on just unlocking the animals and going through the story too. I survived to like 40 years once then died from starvation because I wasn't paying attention.
I have most trouble playing as carnivores, I'm always getting killed and shit and that's also what happened. Usually I'll eat even mid-fight if I'm about to end up starving, but I wasnt paying attention at that point and it killed me while I was (still not actually being hit) fighting the last thing that was left, which was the boss Tosa, which sucks because I have to do all that again to unlock him.
