Hello! My name is Jack and I'm a 15 year old from Brisbane, Australia. I was introduced into anime by a friend and thanks to that grew an addiction. I don't rate anime by MAL standards, a 7/6 is normally around my average mark. I play mostly PC but occasionally a bit of Xbox. I'm now getting into my senior years of school so I don't watch as much as I used to due to studying.

From what I've seen, I agree with you that the franchise as a whole is pretty average. But Season 2 of Railgun is surprisingly very good so far. The direction the story has taken is surprisingly dark and enthralling for the franchise.
I wouldn't say its turned everything upside down, but it's certainly a lot more entertaining to watch than what's come before it.

It's okay so far. Even though it hasn't got nearly as much filler, I still prefer the plot and characters in Railgun. Nothing spectacular but it's enough to keep me from getting bored.
Speaking of which, I see you gave a low score to Railgun. Even so, you should really watch Season 2. Even though it's still going, it's much better than anything in Season 1.

It's similar to K-on in that the protagonists from both series are high school girls. Though Love Live is more story driven, whereas K-on was more laid back.

Hey, Stocky.
I recently watched an anime called Love Live! School Idol Project. It has a pretty good story, the characters are charming, and the art/animation is great. Overall, I think it's a show that adheres to your tastes. Give it a watch sometime.

I don't know how you Australians live with mediocre internet. At least you have.. logical rules on gun ownership...more stable/financially viable currency... less corruption in local authorities.. We 'Muricans still have less censorship in video games. Thats about it. I think I had more "(...)" then A.F.K. subs. Oh wait... that's impossible.

Watch Eclipse's subs or the dub. While not my favorite dub, with many horrible voice actors among the great, it has some very memorable lines in the action sequences.
