- Am an 27-year old biomedical engineer who really got into anime in fall 2005 (congoing, pursuing series, watching pretty everyday).
- Grew up watching animes of Toonami and CN (Inuyasha, Sailor Moon) in the US.
- Recall first watching anime around age 7 or 8, but didn't know what it was then (Mazinger Z, Gundam, Doraemon, Dragon Ball).
- I guess I always had an innate love for anime, but didn't know it was there even when I went to a couple of college anime club meetings in 2002-2003.
- Now I'm very happy that I'm into anime.

The items would be collected the before any of the games were played at the start and game play would contintue until all of the prizes are gone ot until the alloted time end.
I guess in the event that there was still prizes at the end of bingo those who didn't win a game of bingo would come up and choose one item of the table.
This is all in theory so far if it was to go through, since I already had one of the high ups pm saying that Bingo could be consider Gambling and that might cause problems for the Convention. So I figure I might have to look into any loop holes.

When you get a chance could you check your pms on the acen forums. I sent out PM to a bunch of people about an idea I had for something for ACEN'09 and I'm not quite sure if it went to everyone or not since I had to go back send it back one member at a time. (Bingo for Anime)

Swaptree is pretty decent, since the only thing you really have to pay is S&H and it's mainly just for the US. And you have to be trusting that person that send you the item is being truthful. Then again if it turns out crappy then you can write that in the review when you get said item, much like Ebay.

Outside of maybe one of the Acen Chicago Area meet ups, no. The next convention I go to will probably be Acen'09.
Plus the idea of a swapmeet during Acen has already been shot down, since the Dealers might complain. Althougha few others and myself have been told a we could probably set up a swap meet outside of Acen somewhere during the next year. Although I not quite sure where would be a good place to try to put one on that wouldn't be too far for the majority of the Chicagoland based anime fans. I just keep suggesting to people on the boards who want to trade items to sign up on
www.swaptree.com and join the Acen group on there.

Yes, the photo I took of you back in '07 was in the lobby near vendor hall outside of the doors where you'd go in to get your badges.

Also, I just realizedI took a photo of you at Acen'07 dressed as Capitan Kuro on that Saturday.I was looking at your photos on cosplay.com. and thought to myself , oh so hes the Capitan Kuro, who asked if I even knew who he was.So I guess we have meet briefly in passing.
I was probably dressed as Dr. Ni from Saiyuki at the time.
Here's me from this years Acen as Dr. Ni and some girl dressed as Lirin.

I've left a comment on the Acen boards about maybe doing a Swap meet for next year. Haven't heard anything back.

I think, to be fair, it's mostly sheer dedication. I'm the same, but I have a really lame part time job and really can't afford to. But if I can I'll try my hardest to get to one. It's saving, how close you live to the cons and pretty much how much money you want to spend there. Sometimes I'll just go for the atmosphere, I'll spend a little, but it's great to see people like me :)
Sadly, it's come up with a hell of a lot of cosplayers. I dunno which one is you xD! I'd like to see though. I'm still in the noobie phase, but if you wanna progress it really doesn't take that long.
I'd still love to see your cosplay. :)! I hope you're doing well, and that work is treating you fine.

Everythings going fine thanks, I hope you're doing well too.
Those cosplay pics are awesome. Onigiri?! How good is that hehe. I can't make it to the May con in London later this month. I'm totally broke. I haven't had a good week for being paid...So, hows things over there? And I'm really glad you enjoyed the con, nothing better than having a really good time with likeminded people :)
Stay classy :D xx

You've never heard that term before? It's really catchy, saves a long winded introduction really :)
Have you completed Monster yet? I've just finished watching "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" And it's now one of my favourite series. I should update it. It's kinda confusing, the first series is split into 5 arcs, the best bet is to literally sit down and watch the whole series in one go.
To be perfectly honest I'm not too sure, London is rather large, but we do have several in Uni campus' across the year which attract a lot of people, where you need to book in advance to secure a place.
Oh wow thanks :) It's my goal to go to America for a while and just cosplay at loads of cons. It would be so good to meet A LOT more like minded people :)
Thats what's so good about UK cons, they're usually simple to get to, trains or driving will get you to the closest one in about 2 hours. And living in the Midlands it's so simple for me to get anywhere!
You can never be too old to cosplay. What character do you have in mind? I'm not too sure at the moment, I find it so expensive, and I always want to do the most elaborate cosplays. I've had a few ideas rolling around, but nothing I want to act upon.
I hope you're doing well, sorry it's taken me several weeks to reply! xxx

I'd suggest saving it until you have a little spare time, it's not something that needs to be watched desperately. It's a good, funny series. But to say it's a romcom, we see more com that rom. :/ That confused me aha.
I haven't watched "Rumbling Hearts" I probably should, but it makes me think of that noise your stomach makes when you're hungry...only it's coming from your heart...
Most people just thought that DN was "an emo kid anime" that got a few emos into anime. They never stopped and looked at the series for what it was which saddens me. I dislike people who just brush something off because its popular and they don't want to seem like they're "jumping on the bandwagon" as they say.
That's a good idea :) I hope it all works out.
We have quite a few, to say we're kinda tiny. I go to the ones in London, because you get such an amazing array of people from all around the world. You can just talk to anyone, and they're happy enough to talk back :)I love cons~
How are the ones in America? I've seen lots of pictures and videos, the cosplayers are amazing :) Have you ever cosplayed? :D

I'm glad that I'm your first friend, I feel privileged :)
It was meant to move (the first one, which is from School Rumble, a wonderful romance comedy) and it did, for half a second, which displeased me, so I changed it.
That's why I chose it, it's such a light, lovely film...but this picture makes it seem so dark. I like contrasts~
That's what makes him one of the most complex and original characters of all time in my opinion. We're constantly being bombarded with "The hero type" or "The timid type" as the main character, they're never deceiving in the way Light is.
Anything except my current "line of work" I want something I can be proud of, I'm considering working with my mum on a train service. It's alright work tbh~ :) Hows everything going with your job at the moment?

What Light did was, in many respects, the wrong thing...but at the same time his cause of justice is what many countries are crying out for at the moment.
The crimes he took action against were murderers and other terrible things which people do that don't bare to think about.
I guess I'd love to see how things worked out too... Even though, at the same time, I was aching for Light to be caught because he'd just gotten so cocky and quite mental.
I tried to watch Lucky Star but sadly the files I had would play, but only sporadically on my VLC player. The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi was amazing in my opinion. :)
I hope everything works out with your job, there's nothing more satisfying than something going right in your life :)~

I prefer a lot of different kinds of anime to be fair, I'm not too into sci fi unless it has a lot of moe characters (you wouldn't believe I'm a girl!)
I watched the anime but I haven't read the manga, usually it's one or the other for me because either way I'll sit there going "That doesn't happen in the manga" Or "The anime totally messed that part up..." But the ending was fantastic, yes.
I'm a cleaner/child minder relief at my local leisure center, it's not that amazing but the pay is really good :3~ Where do you work? I'm sure you said it on your profile... O.O
