Why so serious? and reason for that is because 20 years ago the industry wasn't that well know so they needed to pull revolutionizing stuff to actually make a profit in the industry. Now,the anime industry is more stable so they can pull this shit off and basically make money off from what others did 20 years ago. And you're over exaggerating lol, 1980-2000 had like probably 10-20 really good anime. 2000-2010 also had about 30-40 really great anime, they were just overlooked cuz they were shorter and because of all the hipsters like you :P
