Actually, what you pointed there is one of the reasons I prefer Vinland on Berserk.
In my opinion, the characters development in Vinland is way better, and it was done waaaaay faster then Bersrek.
Like I said before, I do like gore and stuff, but if there's no good story in there, then I won't read it.

You know, when I read it I did had expections, and it's totaly relevant for a manga that rated 1st in MAL...but it was a fall, every thing in that story was averge.
However, Vinland Saga is pretty much similar, but waaay better.

I just...didn't find em to be THAT funny, besides, as you said, they just repeat the same patterns later which is pretty stupid and shit...why watch 12 episodes when you could have only watched 3 and caught all the jokes? also, that special, is made up of reused scenes from the first 2 or 3 episodes, and no, I don't mean jokes, I mean actual scenes and shit, they reused the same fucking scenes -_- ...
