Yeah, I watched the first episode of Ghost Hound, seems okay, but if you want something kind of funked up and weird I'd say just go with Texhnolyze. I think they havev similar staff and character designs / art, but Texhnolze was more action based, really mature and dark. Has probably one of the most depressing endings I've ever seen, while still being satisfying.
Dunno if I recommend it though, kind of a love it or hate it kind of thing. :P
Basically, I call it the darker Gungrave.

I'm also watching Bubblegum Crisis 2040 now. It's kind of aged and goofy, nothing you'd want to take too seriously, but I like it ... and it's got a good focus on action.

Hard to say ... I just finished the Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex series, which wasn't as heavy on the action like Black Lagoon or anything, but the action that was there was really good.
Other than that, nothing really comes to mind at the moment, most of the rec's I thought of you have already seen. >_<

Hmm, action/romance, most stuff that comes to mind for me seems to already be on your list. Maybe Basilisk? I hear it's got a Romeo and Juliet kind of thing going, but haven't seen much of it myself. I'll let you know if anything comes to mind.

Have you seen Monster? I haven't seen all of it myself, but what I have seen it's pretty awesome. Also one of the highest rated anime's I've seen on ANN. It's a little on the long side though.
