My Rating system
Beautiful 10- Masterpiece, perfect and I could never watch enough. Always sad to see these series end. 9- Near perfect, I enjoyed almost every single moment of it. One or two minor problems but can be overlooked
Enjoyable 8- Enjoyable. It has it's problems but the highs overshadow the lows. No real complaints about the series. 7- Average. The series is enjoyable but it has one or two serious flaws that I don't like. However the series still has more high points than lows
Mediocre 6- Below Average. Has some serious flaws that I cannot overlook. Has a couple of high points but also has many low points. Still enjoyable 5- Barely Passable. Many flaws, and some being really serious. One or two high points but are overshadowed by the low points. Somewhat enjoyable at some parts but most of it is not.
Awful 4- Bad. Flaws to the extreme. Low points greatly overshadow high points (if there are any at all). No longer enjoyable. 3- Horrid. Really no point. Greatly lacks in almost every single category. Many flaws is a huge understatement for this. Not enjoyable at all and may also feel offensive.
There's no possible way anything will get here 2- Garbage. It's so bad, I'm at a loss of words of how to describe it 1- Worst of the Worst. Can't even bare to look at the screen. It's that bad
I see you've watched both Aria anime and read the manga. I was hoping you could tell me how the two compare. Is the manga worth reading for a guy like me, who watched and loved the anime?
Your KoiToSenkyo review was nice, but you should probably put a spoiler warning. I read it (haven't watched it yet) and stopped myself because the character's section has big spoilers in it. Just letting you know.
Hyouka was fantastic man. It mixed two things I love: Slice of Life and Mystery. It could just be because I'm retarded, but only once did I figure out the culprit to a mystery in Hyouka before the anime told me. That's a pretty good track record. :) I never found any of the mysteries they did to be 'dull.' The only thing that would make a mystery dull is if it was easy to solve, and I didn't find any to be that.
Its animation was incredible at times! Many times the animation would do something really profound. Check out these examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pufz8K2uQG4&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0rm2pFLp2k
Even the last episode had that freaky mushroom trip as Oreki was holding the umbrella walking in the parade. The animation certainly went past the norms of a Slice of Life and gave us a bit more.
My only complaint, like you said, is that I was hoping for a bit more romance. I liked the valentines day episode with Satoshi, so I was hoping an equally good episode or two would come for Oreki. But it didn't. Oh well. *shrug*
Insert obligatory remark about high compatability, good taste in anime, etc etc.
I actually meant to only leave a comment commending you for your latest review but got a little sidetracked. Regardless, I'll be sure to upvote all your reviews before I leave.
