This is a great one. Awesomely brilliant, but complex plot. It's dense like all of that director's work is, but it's still one of the most well done movies ever. I don't think any american film at the time reached how complex this movie is overall. Layers of awesome.

Ghost in the Shell (Anime) add

Probably the first or second anime I saw. As a little kid, me and my brother randomly walked into this at a Chicago Comicon, probably '95 or something. We were simply stunned. Hadn't seen anything like it before. It's still stunning today. The complex plot and characters take multiple viewings until they really start unraveling. I need to watch this again very soon, actually....

This is pretty much just fanservice, and I would have liked more of the other characters instead of Cloud being Neo/Goku/Superman, but it's still pretty badass. It looks awesome, and of course its sweet to see the FFVII characters rendered like that. The Turks are always a good thing, too.

Devilman is just ridiculous. There is some horribly cheesy dialogue and a lot of people think its retarded, but i find it both funny AND awesome.

One of the earliest memories i have watching an anime. As a child it was one of the most unique things i've seen. Still has a great story and characters that hold up today. My first exposure to Miyazaki. Not a bad introduction.
