Its rare for me to try anime/manga that im pretty sure i wouldn't enjoy. Which is why most of my ratings are 7-10.
IN MY RATINGS I HEAVILY WEIGHT ENJOYMENT. I consider enjoyment as whole accumulation of characters, story, music, and animation. There may not be much reason behind it, for example SAO: It was an anime I enjoyed despite it not being wrapped up in a tight neat little bow. Animation was great and I can relate to a video game quite well, how ever the story didn't flow exceptionally well nor were the characters well done (not quite static or dynamic, they were eradic, but not lifelike). The second half could have been better done as a spinoff even. Yet, I enjoyed watching it. So while my enjoyment may have been a 10, i deduct a point for story and characters. Sense this may not make for some but whatever.
Typically can't stand slice of life genre. I watch/read because its not normal life. But its not like i'll never watch/read one.
action/adventure/comedy are probably my favorite genres.
Open on suggestions of stuff to read/watch.
