I like certain anime, which is why I've made a profile here to keep a list of which anime I've seen and haven't seen and don't want to see, etcetera.
I find the majority of people boring and rather distasteful and predictable. Perhaps that is why I like anime, because it shows personalities that I never see in my relatively ordinary American life. However, I prefer more realistic anime as opposed to fantastical and unbelievable anime.
Apart from anime, I like to draw, play video games, and listen to music.
My top favorite anime are:
Elfen Lied
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I enjoyed this anime thoroughly. Sure there's blood and nudity, so some people tend to think that Elfen Lied is so popular just because of those things; I'm sure blood and nudity helped, but that's not the deep part about Elfen Lied.
The main story would be the relationship between Kouta and Lucy. If you don't like romance then the story would probably not be to your liking. But because of how much I could emphasize with Lucy, her life, and her feelings, it made me be able to like this anime more than any other I've seen.
The parts I didn't really like about this anime were some of the side characters, mainly Nana and that other homeless girl. They didn't seem like they fitted correctly within the story. I also wasn't too fond of the personality of "Nyu," although I suppose getting shot in the head with a high-powered sniper rifle might be enough to give you a split personality.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chrno Crusade
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where to start...Well, having grown up in a "Christian environment" myself, I was automatically somewhat accustomed to the church in Chrno Crusade; and I was amused and somewhat intrigued by the many religous references in this anime. The character that I could relate a lot to in this anime was, unsurprisingly, Chrono. However, I unfortunately can't turn into a flying demon. Chrono really made this anime all it was, for me. From the amazing transformation scene: "What have you done, lowest of the low, you so far beneath my contempt you have not even a name! You dare touch my contractor!? You DARE HURT WHAT'S MINE!?" to the random "Jeepers" and other random outdated remarks which made me laugh.
Rosette was kind of the typical hyper moralistic maniac girl in anime, but she had some redeeming qualities shown near the end of the anime. In the dubbed version her voice was terrible though, she squeeled a lot.
Probably the only thing I didn't like (besides Rosette's dubbed voice) was the side character "Azmaria," for she didn't fit too well and seemed like a very typical kind of anime character. Oh I also didn't like the other side character, the one that had an accent..."Satella Harvnheit." She was just annoying and had no redeeming qualities.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My second tier of favored anime would be 5 Centimeters Per Second, Ergo Proxy, Full Metal Panic!, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Claymore, and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. I might write explanations of why I like those whenever I get bored enough.
Yes I was disappointed that Clare didn't kill Priscilla at the last episode, but that gave hope to a second season. so far though, I haven't even heard of solid rumors about it.
btw If you like those animes that aren't shy to show some blood and gore, you should probably check out Berserk.
Its a really old anime, but its pretty damn enjoyable, and definitely has some pretty cool characters.
I really hope they come up with a much needed second season of claymore.
I think it would be kick ass to have a season more centered about Teresa's awesomeness.
It was really sad to see her die in the first season.
but I think they can still make a season about her, something like, the story of her whole childhood, how she joined claymore and how she became the best one xD
Hello :) Because I prefer to communicate with people from my country in native language ;) I am still learning english, but at this point i am very good at reading and understanding text, but writing and speaking is sometimes hard for me :) I have to practice more. To the point: yeah we have extremely high compatibility. I'll get some titles from your list (those with high ratings). It's very possible that I enjoy them.
