Long, long profile of stuff about me:
Okay, I started watching anime when I was 12 years old and they brought Gundam Wing and Tenchi Muyo on Cartoon Network's Toonami. Within a few months I bought my first anime series, Sorcerer Hunters (still my favorite anime ever!!!), and I've been addicted ever since. I gravitate towards action series, but its always nice when someone can sneak a little bit of romance into them, since I'm a big ol' softie at heart. :) I don't much care for angst-ridden stuff though, no matter how "intelligent" people say it is. I like my heroes to be heroes, not whiny brats. On that note, people who complain about shonen series irk me. The reasons are usually weak, too. "Its too popular and the fans get on my nerves!" So what? Ignore them and ask yourself if YOU like it. That's all that matters. "There's too much filler!" Again, so what? Shonen series run long anyways. Go check out something else and come back when the filler's over; it won't kill you. :P Gah...even talking about it makes me growl. I try to keep it under control but meh...for me anime is all about fun and that's what shonen anime brings to the table for me.

I'm also a fan of Tokusatsu, which are basically live-action anime but don't tell other Toku fans that, they might get mad. :D I'm kinda odd when it comes to Toku. I just don't have the hatred other fans do for anime because people don't like the stuff. I'm weird. That I like it and other people might not is nothing new.

Lastly (well not really lastly...if I have one big flaw its that I like too much shit), I'm a huge huge fan of comic books. I like to think I love all my hobbies equally...but this one I prolly love a little more than the others. I've been reading comics almost since I could read (so about 19 years now) and I'm a fan of both superhero (mostly DC) and non-superhero comics.
Sage's Favorite Comics (in no particular order)
1602, Animal Man 1-26, Astro City vol. 1-3, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes vol. 1&2, Books of Magic mini-series, Common Grounds, Fantastic Four: 1234, Flex Mentallo, Invisibles, Iron Man v3 1-18, JLA v3 1-55, JSA 1-87, Kingdom Come, Legion Lost, Legion Worlds, Mage: The Hero Discovered, Mage: The Hero Defined, Marvel Boy, Marvels, New X-Men 117-154, Robin v1 1-100, Sandman, Smax, Spider-Man: Blue, Starman, Superboy v2 1-100, Teen Titans v3 1-46, The Legion, Top Ten, Transmetropolitan.
I know, I know, lots of comics. I don't just need a MAL, I need a MCL. :P
I have a new club! If you're a comic book fan, you should definitely come join and geek out with us. 'Cause you know it IS possible to be a fan of both anime and comics. :D Link to Comic Book Fanclub.
I have a bad habit of being arrogant (especially when someone's annoyed me), but I'm otherwise a really nice guy, and very friendly and (I like to think) helpful. Feel free to add me as a friend or IM me or whatever, since I'm usually around, even if I'm busy watching anime/playing video games/writing stories.
For the record, yes, if you see this name elsewhere anywhere on the internet (and I am almost everywhere), its me. Its *always* me. If it is not me, please report the false SageShinigami to me, and I will dispatch one of my heroic minions to...reclaim my title. :D For your time, you'll receive a free cookie or cupcake, and a talking bunny.
Also, if you read all this...pat yourself on the back 'cause unlike people who usually say this, this was a LOT to read. :P
Random Stuff:
Things I like:
Open-minded people, intelligent people, fun, happiness, heroes/heroism, video games, good music, anime and manga (duh!), comic books, hentai (I'm a perv..what of it? :D), good cartoons, friends, writing. And bunnies and kittens.
Things I don't like:
People who hate shonen series (I was serious! :D)...people who don't like trying new things...stupidity...people who don't like rap/hip-hop ('cause they usually don't know what they're talking about), people who think majority = always right, angst and emo people, anti-heroes, villains, and bad music.
MAL Claim a Character
She is...a red-haired goddess of battle. She is...the ultimate Hero. She is...the Hope of the HiMes. She is...Mine! Mine! All mine! Mwahahahahaha...*coughs*
New to my page! 'Cause you can't live without knowing what music I'm listening to...
I plan on writing tons this November. Ever heard of Nanowrimo?
I know. Problem is, I can't just watch one, I know. I'll want to watch them all at once, and I'm just too busy for that now. Darn it. I'll just have to avoid spoilers...
I'm waiting for Shinsen to finish the show before I rewatch it. They technically haven't dropped it yet. Otherewise it looks like C-M might actually beat them...and I don't have to tell you how bad that is, lol.
I'm so glad to hear that. Hope things keep looking up for you. ^.^
Something that makes you think, Something that is perverted and fun, something that is awesome, something that isnt a shojo, something that doesnt have a character where u can tell if the person is a guy or a girl
Me? Been pushing myself to watch far too many shows since I plan on cutting way back in November.
I regrettablly have not watched one single episode. But I have C-M's all ready and waiting to go. They are remarkably on top of things so far, I'm impressed.
Did you rewatch Macross Frontier like you said you might?
Holy crap, Conclave-Mendoi already has a sub for Gundam 00 S2 ep. 1 and it's not three weeks after the air date! I about died of shock. XD
Would've watched it already if gg's releases as of late didn't hate my player/comp so much. So weirdy and jerky, and the audio track always gets off from the sub track....maybe for generic moe blob harem romance show #540090, but that'll never do for Gundam. >.<
That's okay, the Queen of Slow Replies would never call anyone on being slow. Unless it was six months later or something...but I was starting to wonder. I'm so sorry for your loss. I actually have to go to a funeral this week myself.
I've oddly gone back to a four hour sleep cycle lately. But I don't feel so hot for it. >_>
I hear ya. My dad was discussing me helping to pay for an upgrade, I may take him up on it.
Yeah, it's hard to get too bummed out about a manga cancellation when you're reading so many series like I am. In a weird way it's kind of welcome (though I still would have liked to see Double Arts keep going, don't get me wrong).
See, with me, I wanted to try your method of watching the two shows together, but Lunar's subs came out so late that it was time for the next episode of CG R2 to be out. So I'd think, "well, I'll wait and make a mini-marathon." Then, I'll wait and make a real marathon." Then I had so many of them saved up I figured I'd wait until the seasons were close to being over and watch them all then. But life did not cooperate...I ended up watching them this weekend. I love Marcoss Frontier. Code Geass R2 ended better than I thought it would, but it still had those little problems that it had throughout the series that would keep me from rating it a masterpiece.
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu is not really what I thought it'd be, and I can't say it brought anything new to the table. Considering your limited d/l capabilites, you're better off watching some of the new fall shows, I think.
It just seems so weird. I'd been watching that show week by week for almost two years; how can I not be d/l an episode of it this week? Think I'm gonna have to watch it from the beginning again.... :P
I say that, but I sleep so much lately...and by so much, I mean more than the four hours a night I used to be able to subside on. *sigh and insert wildly inappropriate comment about old age here* :P
Yeah, mine was disconnecting every five minutes or so, and I was highly irritated that day since the sub for the second Bleach movie had just come out, and that was the only day I could watch it for awhile--suffice it to say, I didn't get to watch it for awhile. >.< But at least my connection seems to be behaving a bit better lately. *knocks on wood*
I had just been explaining to my friend about the rather brutal nature of Weekly Shonen Jump that week...I didn't think I'd have a personal example so soon. :( Yes, as I see you know already, that was the end of Double Arts. Bummer. It seemed like it was just getting going, too...
BTW....I still haven't seen episodes 19 & 20 of Macross Frontier. Or Code Geass R2, for that matter. =o
Aw, man...these days I have to baby-sit my internet connection, as it likes to disconnect every 10 seconds when I'm trying to d/l something. Stupid weather. Oh, and I'm glad you're safe. ^.^
I totally did not see that ending coming, but it was great. ^_^ The OVA were different, so of course I had to look it up--sure enough, supposedly the tone of the manga is more like the OVA, so I promptly ordered all of the manga that I could, ten volumes worth (in my defence, it's Tokyopop, and they're struggling lately, so...). Excellent series, I can see why you like it as much as you do. And how'd you know Marron'd be my favorite? >.> XD
Yes. The whole thing made me sad. And I've got to admit, by the end of this season I was quite tired of Donna, but I certainly never wanted her end up like that. And how slow is the Doctor that it took him that long to see through her "I'm no one special" routine? That's sad that you don't have much else to watch anymore, but yay for someone else watching Eureka! I still have Stargate Atlantis at least. :)
