Yep. That is what the whole anime is about. Hi guys this is my anime review for Phantom-Requiem for the Phantom.I will try my best not to give away any spoilers. Don't worry i will warn you so please read freely.
This is an incredibly underrated show. Similar to an action Hollywood film, the anime introduces us to a completely new atmosphere which is rarely seen in Animes. The whole Assassins plot with badass chicks and manipulative higher ups sets a very unique surrounding where the protagonist is always on the brink of death.

Story - 10/10
"If we had met in some other way, we might have been able to live happily forever"

The story revolves around a Japanese tourist in America who witnesses a murder. He freaks out and takes shelter in an abandoned building. But he is found out and, due to his survival ability, the assassin leader takes him in, brainwashes him and trains him under Inferno's flawless and loyal assassin -Phantom. she gives him a name -Zwei and calls herself Ein. He is forced to train to become an assassin as he will be disposed off otherwise. From here his life takes a massive turn as he delves deeper into the shrouded mysteries of Inferno and gets involved in the conflict among the mafia world.

THE GOOD
- The story is Original. You can never guess what will happen next.
- You will never get bored if you are into mafia stuff.
- Large time skips which give the anime an EPIC feeling,
- Twists, Betrayal, Violence etc are common in the world of Phantom.

THE BAD
- Senseless murder and violence might get you sick.
- At some point the story loses its sanity. It becomes an endless road of massacre.

But if you don't consider this bad then the Story has no complaints. During the whole journey i always had my cursor on the next episode link. The Suspense and Thriller is just AWESOME. Its a one of a kind Anime.


Sound -8/10
The Anime has two pairs of Openings and Endings.
The first OP is "Karma" which is a slow song by KOKIA. The song gives of a sad melancholic feeling similar to that of Lilium from Elfen Lied. The video shows how Zwei is trapped and manipulated by the endless world of mafia. I honestly expected a BANG BANG Opening but I get a beautiful song somewhat befitting the theme.
The second OP is "Senritsu no Kodomotachi" by ALI PROJECT. Yep the same band that performed the eerie OP for Another and "Yukyou Seishunka" for Code geass. But this song was a fail. It did not succeed in getting me hooked to it.

The BGM music is TERRIFIC. The best one is the one where Zwei goes to killing business and they play this EPIC sound like makes you want to get a gun and shoot.It a an AWESOME rock n' roll type. Also there is a BGM for another person. When they get to killing business the BGM plays a sexy music like a woman making sounds. You will see (or hear lol)

And also i like that music from the stop watch that Zwei buys for *****. It is sad and depicts *****'s life perfectly.

Characters 10/10

"To get deceived,played with and never be able to protect the one that you love.There is no exit in this endless loop.I have had enough of it!"

This is where the anime shines.The characters are impressively unpredictable. They are cunning, selfish, manipulative and insanely greedy. The one that will get on your nerve will be Scythe Master. Some characters like Lizzie ,Mio, Shiga are just useless. Others like Claudia (HOT), Mc Guire, Isaac are the intelligent ones. These characters make the scenes they are in more interesting and thrilling. The protagonists are also really cool. Zwei would be my favorite. He just gives off the aura of EPICNESS.
The characters never get on your nerves. Maybe sometimes Ein might with her insane loyalty but excluding that everything is a masterpiece. The characters are distinguishable and likable.


Enjoyment 10/10

The whole series went out in a flash. Always curious what happens next. I just wished there were more episodes but it was still pretty cool. I utterly enjoyed the end as it was Unique and acceptable. There are a number of favorite scenes in the anime. I specially enjoyed the little romance between Zwei and Ein. Also the action was pretty surprising and AWESOME. You will never regret watching this anime.

OVERALL

With all these fascinating qualities and EPIC thriller,this anime easily became one of my favorite anime. It is completely original and never gives cliche scenes. For someone who liked Black lagoon but want more complex story, this one is for you. Amazing story, amazing Drama and a Respectful End.
Thereby i conclude by saying that this anime should be more popular than it is now. Dont drop this anime. It is EPIC.

I had been longing to see this anime for quite a while. And finally i saw it. After completing it I was quite disappointed.

Story - 5/10
The story is Original but it had so many flaws that till the end it kept on counting. Igarashi Ganta is wrongly accused of killing all of his classmates (29 to be precise) during school hours. He is sentenced to death and awaits his doom in a privately owned (lol) prison called deadman wonderland where prisoners entertain citizens in a type of an amusement park. When he ends up here he finds that the guy who actually killed his classmates is here and then the story goes on as he steps closer to finding out his identity in the nightmarish prison. He meets different inmates and discovers the insane rules and regulations of the prison where death is always at the corner.

The story had immense potential, but it is never achieved. Episode after episode the story became less interesting and we kept seeing the bullshit they presented. The action and gore was at its height but the fights were just too small. When you see an upcoming fight you expect it to be action packed slicing-dicing but it never lasted long enough. Dont expect anything from the end too.

Sound - 9/10
This was a shocker. The soundtrack was really good. The opening sequence "One Reason" performed by Fade is sung in English entirely and is a pop rock song. It was really AWESOME and easily became one of my favorites. The BGM was pretty cool too.
The missed the ending sequence coz if the first 5 sec of it doesn't catch my interest i skip it. So i really can't say anything about it.

Art - 7/10
Well in a highly gory and action packed anime Art is pretty important. This anime doesn't fail there. The blood was impressive and the colors went with the atmosphere. The characters were drawn well. Though the protagonist was the lamest. They could have made him better. He looks like he needs a punch on his face. Anywhoo that's all for art.

Character - 5/10
Pathetic! I don't understand why the creator created such lame characters. Sometimes the characters were created just to be killed in the next scene. That doesn't even make sense. They introduce a character and show their ugly background/flashback and in the next scene they are sliced in two. This all is done just to show how cool and strong the character who sliced them is. The emphasis on showing off the coolness of every dumb and ridiculous character makes me laugh. And to top it all off the main protagonist is soo ugly and lame he makes Makoto from school days look normal. I mean in the one episode he is loser crying like a baby and in the next he defeats the boss . He just learns how to fight in one scene and takes on the villain in the next. I mean WTF. The side characters are not given importance. People just keep die-ing every moment which makes them look useless.
The female protagonist has a split personality ( i think ) and not much of her past is revealed. She seems quite mysterious but likes Ganta very much.

Enjoyment - 6/10
It was fun to watch people getting sliced but there's Quality above Quantity. After sometime it lost its energy and we keep expecting blood and flying body parts.This anime had loads of potential. The story sucked the most and the characters with it. At ep 4 this anime lost enjoyment quality. It became monotonous and the end kept you baffled. The villain ...umm ... wait ... no spoilers. Anywhoo I would never recommend this anime no matter what. Only people who like gore no matter the story will love this and wont refrain from giving it 10/10.

Overall - 6+1/10
The +1 is for the sound. It was a mediocre anime with unusual brutality and insanity. It was a mixture of poor execution with good sound crew. It could and should have been much much better if it was presented to the audience in a proper acceptable way. But it didn't happen till the end. The graph kept going down from episodes 4-12.

Lastly this was another waste of time. Its not a must watch anime nor it would be a wonderful experience watching it. But for the people who want to see immense gore and senseless violence please go on ahead and watch this.

I know I know ... This is an old movie or whatever but for those who haven't yet seen it or the recent resident evil fans .. Here is the review.

Those of you who have played the resident evil 4 game should know that this movie/anime/video is just a bundle of all the cutscenes in the game.

The story is about our hero Leon S Kennedy who is appointed by the President of U.S.A to rescue his daughter. Apparantly she was seen captured by a group of people who live in a deserted region in Europe. So Leon along with two policemen goes into this area to rescue her. He finds that these people are los illuminous or something and have.plagas in their body which makes them type of zombies. So in the whole journey he kicks these bitch asses and meets different people and tries to find about the daughter of the president and why she has been kidnapped. This is the story.

Now I am a hardcore resident evil fan and have played this game 4 times so the movie didnt matter to me. Its only all the cutscenes and those of you who didnt play the game can watch this to know the story.

As the video is from the game the same art and sound is used. So nothing unusual. So after I have played the game I didnt find this as interesting so my score is on that base. Watch it at your own risk

Before some of you people see the 10 rating and directly decide this review is not helpful i would like you to read this review first.

The story pretty much revolves around a game set by The God of space and time himself to chose his successor as he deteriorates. So he chooses 12 contestants to face off against each other .Given them are future diaries with distinctive special powers and are supposed to use this to kill each other and become the new god. The protagonist is a loner high school student who gets selected in this game.
As the series progresses the story gets more complicated and there are numerous "WTF" moments where you dont get how what happened and that is the best thing about the anime. The uniqueness about the plot and the characters is something to be noted. We never know whats going to happen next. The are so many surprises and twists waiting for you. It will always keep you on the edge of the seat. So if you are bored with the typical shounen anime this one will suit your tastes.


The art is decent. It could have been better but you cannot extremely hate it either.

The openings are the best. The first one is Kuusou Mesorogiwi is really good. The mystery and gore themes are perfectly depicted and goes really well with the anime plot. But the second OP is epic.
Its called DEAD END by faylan. Out of the both of them this one takes the trophy. It is sung in English and i dont know about others but after finishing the anime the song somewhat makes sense to me. The video shows all the contestants which is also amazing. Full marks for it.

The characters of this anime are amazing , psychotic , crazy , insane and can do whatever it takes to fulfill their goals . You cannot even expect the good guys to always do something good or the bad guys to always do bad and i love this fact. I know the protagonist is a bit of a pussy but wait and you will be rewarded. Yuno (the heroine) is -well what can i say- Out Of This World. She is amazingly retarded and is freaking madly in love with Yuki (the protagonnist). Other than these two are many characters but i would like to say that Uryu Minene (i wont say who she is coz i dont want to spoil anything) is my favorite.


I would like to point out the criticisms to this anime and how wrong they are. Some people say that reading the future from a cell phone diary is "nonsensical". Then i would like to say that most of the top-rated anime always have something "nonsensical" like showing hand-shadows and spitting fire from their mouth or saying BANKAI and evolving your sword or containing your pets in balls and making them fight . Back to the point all anime requires some amount of imagination and if you dont have it you wouldn't like this anime or any on that matter.


At last i would say that this was one of the best animes of 2011 and if you like gore , mystery and suspense then add this to your list. Don't drop this anime people. Animes like this are rare gems. This is not your usual Supernatural monster killing anime. It is a truly enjoyable series which will definitely remain as a gem in your list.

You might all have somewhere heard a story of a girl from a town going to the village and experiencing the hardships there. Well that is the basis of Hanasaku Iroha. One thing different here is that Ohana (the protagonist) actually likes working instead of the comforts of Tokyo town.

So the story is like this girls irresponsible mother leaves her with her grandma as she hides from her debts. So Ohana goes to Yoshiblahbla (dont remember) to live with her grandma who runs an inn and she is immediately appointed. Her grandma is a "hard love" type of a character . So the story revolves around this girl making new friends and dealing with the different happenings around the inn.

Th first few episodes of this anime really got me stuck on the screen. I couldn't stop my hands when they clicked the link for the next episode. I generally don't see Slice of Life anime but this one caught my attention. The characters were bright and cheerful , the atmosphere was beautiful and the music was great. It was all going well for Hanasaku Iroha. But this kept me waiting for a grand finale which was rather disappointing. I was expecting something melodramatic or tear jerking end but it was not worth the 26 episode wait. The story is the only aspect of this anime which did not pick up as the numbers of episode did.

The art was Very beautiful. The small village Yoshiblahbla was very beautiful and the bonbori festival looked amazing. Even Tokyo town was depicted beautifully . So nothing wrong here.

The OPs were awesome. Well fitting for a Slice of life anime. Both of them were fantastic and went well along with the story.

The series was quite enjoyable. As i said each episode kept triggering the next one.

The only downside is the lack of a grand finale which would have been the gem on the crown or watever..

In the end , this was quite a good anime which could have become a masterpiece . So from me it gets an 8...

First of all this is my review. This review is what i solely think and not what a group of people think so i could please them by writing what they want to read , so please bear with me.

I have seen quite some boring anime lately and was dropping them coz they did not satisfy my needs. Then I came upon Sankarea. The synopsis was kinda vague so i decided to give it a try. I was very much pleased that after all nonsense anime about zombies , someone gives a somewhat believable story about them.
NOW onto the review.

Story(9) -The first episode it self got me interested in this anime. If you are a person who does not like ecchi then i wont recommend this anime to you. It has got quite some ecchi scenes but for those who have a tolerance for them , This is gonna be a fantastic journey. The story is not at all cliche. Its a completely new story (From what little anime i have seen) and will always keep your hopes alive and keep you waiting for the next episode. The emphasis on background story is also interesting in the later half of the series. I like the way it is presented to the audience after they become familiar with the characters.

Characters(9) -The characters of this anime are also unique. A normal teenager with obsession in zombies, a pampered innocent rich young lady, and a fucked up old guy having dirty thoughts about his daughter. There are also other likable characters who have their own reasons for their behavior which is explained very well in the second half.

Music(6) - The soundtrack of this anime is not anything great or groundbreaking compared to its story but its not that bad either. Its mediocre but not something i would like to listen separately.

Art(10) - One word -Fantastic. Loved it. Its high quality art work had me surprised. The details of the very little things are pleasing to the eye. So no complaints on this topic.

NOTE- The comedy , romance , ecchi genres are fulfilled in this anime but when you talk about horror this anime is not at all scary. I don't see the horror aspect at all. And by horror i mean something like Another or Shiki. The Zombie part is presented in a cute and innocent way opposite to that of HOTD. So if you are looking for something in that direction then please keep looking.

Overall(9) - At last this was a very surprising and beautiful discovery. I cant wait for the series to end as i would like it to have a fantastic finale. I hope they don't screw up in the end.
