Well, not like there's something to like about K-On 10 :P Wasn't there an episode like this already... ? Gosh, how uninspired.

Byou | 06-07-09, 1:11 AM
Bon voyage ; )

Byou | 06-03-09, 5:41 AM
Thats good, I'll trust you on that :3
So you had the flu, huh ? I too had it, and actually, I'm still having it lightly. It kind of never goes away completely =/ Even thoguh there are such temperatures... Talking about temperatures, how's the weather on your end ?

So, did that tune you came up with work out ? I'm a little late answering, because I've been studying for the past days... in fact, I'm still pretty busy. Gawd, I hate how work piles up at the end of the term.
And I'll start gradually learning music theory... it's not, like I've never engaged myself in learning theory, but I just didn't keep it up =S

That's exactly my process of thought you displayed there ! And your propably right about any further raging being senseless. There are only 4 episodes left, I'll just keep up with it and give a proper rating. Originally there should've been 26 episodes... but now I'm glad that forums will return to being normal sooner as thought.

Keep it up : )

Phew~, glad I'm not ^___^ I just can't tell what you think, because of your typeface.

I'm not sure if telling you that'll help you in any way, but when I have writer's block, I simply try to completely focus my mind on something. That works just fine, when there's no deadline (which propably is on your part) with me.
Talking about songwriting. I want to be able to write music too, someday, but for starters, I've never seriously learned reading notes properly. Of course, I need to learn them sooner or later, but tabs did the job quite fine until now =/ Do you think it's very important to learn them as soon as possible ? For example, I'm pretty sure they'd help me understand the structure of appregios and scales better, and thus help me with soloing, once I'm good enough. But still... it's quite some work to get them down for all eternity, I think.

Hehe, well then, once you've something recorded and online, please let me know : )

Byou | 05-30-09, 4:12 PM
Is your writer's block that bad, or is there another reason ? (you don't need to give an explanation, since I seem to be bothering you enough already)

Also, I wanted to ask, if there are recordings of your band available online. Because it somehow caught my interest.

I hope the situation on your end is going to get better soon.

Byou | 05-30-09, 3:00 PM
I see. Well then, have you ever played an ESP LTD ?

VOX amps are pretty much for everything but metal. They just don't have that extreme level of distortion and pressure you can get from other amps. Plus, it's a modeling amp.
It's very versatile and you can get anything from beautiful cleans to good distortion. Especially the cleans sound very nice to my ears. I think the amp is most fitted for Telecaster-like guitars. It has a handful of useful effects too and it's not hard to program. (in contradiction to some other amps I've seen) I think a VOX amp would suit you, but I don't want to speculate too much.

Glad you liked NGE, it's some kind of milestone in anime-history. I really love it too. The rebuild series is gorgeous in terms of animation quality, have a good watch. The second movie in the series is going to air pretty soon, too.

Let me read your rage opinion about K-On 9 when you have watched it : )

Byou | 05-30-09, 2:35 AM
Sorry for not replying that long - I've been awfully busy these days.

I think I can see why you don't like Jacksons : ( And mate, sorry for reminding you of your friend, I didn't know. Think I'll drop the guitar topic.

Have never heard of "Raven" too. And I agree with you. Don't buy something shitty just because it's cheaper. The Line6 Spider II was something I've been looking out for too, but I went for the Vox VT 30W in the end, which happened to be the (not entirely) wrong buy for the kind of music I play. Should've gone for one of those Peavy Vypyr : (

FOB ain't emo ? I was sure they could be classified as emo, considering lyrics and stuff... meh, last.fm can't be trusted too '___' I'm happier with Pop/Punk anyway.
I too think Folie A Deux sounds best. It's kind of spunkier than the other two albums I listened to.
I do think they are laid back for real. Because fans will see right through it when they put on an act in front of them just for the means of increasing their popularity. All the really well-known bands with this image of "just being good" people have of them present themselves the way they are. Or at least, thats what I think :3 But yeah, sure, there is no way there wouldn't be marketing somewhere.

How'd you like NGE ? And I don't really understand the thing with writer's block, do you write fiction or something ?

I'll give those bands a shot, thanks : )

cheers

Special as in what, for example ? Because the lack of trem really isn't that bad. Actually I find it rather annoying because down-tuning is a real hassle with a floating bridge.(my current guitar has a licensed one) And licensed trems just don't work the way they should... strings go out of tune far too easily and they just dont squeal the right way.
Apart from that I don't think there's much it could have added. I don't really need things like a tubocharger or a system for splitting my humbuckers so it'd sound Strat-like (my brother's Schecter Hellraiser got that) Because I don't really intend to play a lot of bluesy stuff or similar things.

You may be right about me having to play it first. But I held a model with the same body in my hands, the last time I went to the music store. And I really love the flat, thin neck. I just haven't heard it, but I watched quite a couple of videos where it has been showcased and I have EMG 81/60's in my current guitar too, so... I can't possibly dislike the sound and it's not really necassary to try it out at the store (I don't like playing in the store and it would propably sound totally different at my amp, too) is what I think :3

But. I have this feeling, I'd have fun playing non-metal stuff on more versatile guitars too. (actually the DKMGT has been labeled very versatile in many reviews I read, and I could swap the EMG 85 with my 60, which is brilliant for clean and overdriven sounds)
So I even thought about Jim Roots new signature Fender Telecatser which is pretty versatile too and barely within my price range. In other words, I can't make up my mind about what kind of guitar really fitted best ^__^ Just want to get away from my Warlock, because I started to hate the feel long ago.
By the way, I have a Vox VT30 solid state amp which is supposed to have great sound for it's price for pretty much everything but metal. I do think it plays metal rather well too, but it definitly plays everything else at least a tad better. I don't plan on buying a new amp any time soon, though.

On second thought, I love the exact kind of neck that Jackson has... propably because I'm used to that kind of necks. God, I hate choosing between things...

That Gretsch you want to get is pretty nice ! This circuit system is really interesting... I guess something like this is what you'd call a real feature you want to see on a guitar :P But I haven't seen something similar at any of the guitars in my local music store, so I doubt there is something I could get.
Also, I watched the I Don't Care PV from Fall Out Boy, which pretty surprised me... I really liked it :] They were pretty loose and the PV made me grin quite a few times.
So, I'm getting two of their albums. I think this is how an emo band should be. Nothing like this mix of emo/screamo most kids listen to nowadays. Like my chemical romance and similar artists...

Well, sorry, got a little long and its quite random :-(

Byou | 05-23-09, 9:51 AM
I totally forgot to ask you about your guitar-rig : ) Also, I'm propably going to buy a new guitar next month, so, would you mind giving me your opinion about this one ? It's pretty much the only thing in the price range I can handle (700-800€ ~ a grand) which fullfills most of my requirements. The only thing that makes me worry a little is the bolt-on neck. I'd be more happier with neck-thru, solely for the better access of the upper frets. A trem would've been nice too, but anything aside from an original one from Schaller is wasted money, and there are no guitars in that price range offering one, so I'm fine with hardtail.
I read countless reviews and stuff about that model and similar models in the series, and there was mostly positiv feedback, but I'm gettig the impression, I'm missing something =S

I'm planning on either borrowing P4 from a friend or buying it as soon as I've finished P3 (which will take some time). I would have played P3 FES in the first place, but I couldn't get my hands on it. Well. I think the P4 character design is pretty cool too, by the way.

I pretty much ignored the maid-service in this episode, because it was just too obvious. And I don't even want to know whats going to happen with Azusa. Bet we'll see her playing triangle or something soon...

I liked Mamimi quite a lot too, mysterious characters are always nice, moe should be just some kind of natural addition, if you know what I mean. I wished FLCL had a few more episodes. Wait. No. It was fine just the way it was.

Thanks : ) Those characters are original characters by an artist called yoshito running a blog called fashionsnap - 2D There are even some tutorials showing the way he draws, too bad I dont have a tablet.
There aren't many artists I like, so I was quite surprised to find such an unknown artist with such nice work. His characters look kind of simple and clean, yet astonishing, imo.

Well... gotta practice a little guitar... sleep wouldn't be bad too ^.~

later m8

A big facepalm at the Les Paul thing. God, people can be so fanatic. You know what ? Not that long ago, I went with my friend to the local music store to give him some advice while bying a guitar. I might not have been playing the guitar for a long time, but I hogged quite some knowledge about things I shouldn't need to care about. Anyways. He was stuck up on that honey burst Les Paul, because he could connect it to K-On. It was, in my opinion, the best guitar in his price range and it suited his style, but I'm sure K-On influenced him in buying exactly that one guitar without second thought >__>

Yeah, Persona is quite awesome. I was caught up playing it ~6h a day for several days. But as soon as I maxed courage, charm and intelligence, there wasn't really anything left to do aside of leveling in the tower and stuff. Which was actually pretty boring considering that each stage is basically the very same, they even look the same. So it grew kind of boring after a while and I'm now struggling to finish it. The characters are definitely refreshing, though : ) To bad they f*cked up the anime.

You call that rock music ? Thats more like childs play to me. I can't see Mio anymore, good lord, why do they keep exaggerating so much. Her having approx. 1000 favourites, even though the show is only at the eight episode, is just absurd to me.

zenethia | 05-22-09, 2:16 AM
i would -- it's been quite a while since i watched it (which was probably in 2004) so i've been meaning to watch it again. i'd say though that if you get a chance to check it out, do it. i just can't remember too much about it because it's been like five years since i saw it, haha.

Byou | 05-21-09, 4:33 PM
He he he, yeah thats about all moe based slice of life shows are about. And I agree it's distugsting. But you know, K-On is pretty much on the top of moeblobs, so you propably won't find a show this exaggerated again.
I'm going to see it though too. First of all because I want to be able to tell someone exactly why this show sucks ass and secondly because I'm curious about whether they manage to pull of an entertaining stage performance whithout relying on moe but on what music gives them. But I doubt that'll happen :]

I dislike 07 Ghost too. I dropped it 3 episodes ago, because I hated the set of characters, as well as the stupid circumstances they were in. The problem with shounen anime is that pretty much eveything is clichéd and it's hard to make something new and innovative.
As for Bleach, it too is clichéd but I don't want to stop watching it after 220 episodes. I hate nothing more than the filler episodes, but I do like certain arcs. For example, the first 70~ episodes are considered best by a lot of people and I too think those were good episodes. The Bounto thing (you're watching it right now as far as I can remember) was a little... meh. But there are again interesting and entertaining parts afterwards. I's just this neverending circle of "good guys choppin up bad guys and new bad guys poppin up".

I liked Hyakko too, it started a little slow but it became really funny and entertaining =)
Hmm, as for slice of life/romance you might like, I can recommend you Clannad and Nodame Cantabile (featuring lots of piano). And I have this feeling you could love Ghost in the Shell. If you plan on watching GitS, start with either both TV series (I liked them the most) or the remake of the orig. movie, which would be GitS 2.0.
Ghost in the Shell is very complex and has a set of characters with great depth. You won't find any moe there. Just very interesting developement. It's a science fiction juwel, it you ask me.

Byou | 05-21-09, 2:32 PM
I understand what you mean with lack of substance, for I am one of those who like this casual feel : ) I usually listen to them solely for relaxation purposes, because they're somehow loosening. Comes in handy when you've listened to a lot of metal and want to chill out a little.
I'll listen to those Police Club guys, thanks mate : D
Hehe, have fun mowing ! It sure has been a while since I've marathoned a show. That's partly because there aren't that many outstanding shows out there I haven't already seen yet. Or at least there aren't many shows that catch my interest. You could say now, there are still a lot of middle class shows, but I've decided to not continue watching too many of those, as they take me nowhere =S
Whats you're favourite genre concerning anime ? Oh, and thanks for the friends request, I was actually planning to send you one today.

Thats what everyone thinks when watching season one : ) I'm curious to see what you'll say about the answers given in season two.
