Why...
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is one of my favorite anime series because, put simply, it makes you feel like a kid again. Sure it's not exactly believable or realistic, but when Simon and Kamina yell out
"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?"
it makes you feel energized. To put it simply, TTGL mastered the shounen genre with their over the top attacks and mecha, and emphasized yelling. If you're a fan of shounen, watch it.
Shugo Chara is one of my favorite anime series because its fucking funny. The show itself is kiddie and makes you think you are a child when you watch it, which might not be a good thing as it is for TTGL, but if you walk into it with an open heart you get a great psuedo-episodic series that makes you wonder why you ever liked sex and blood.
Of course, you'll still love that at the end of Shugo Chara, but it makes you glad you can enjoy things without it, too.
