As far as Gilgamesh goes, yeah, he' an asshole but that's why I partly like him as he's an egotistical, charismatic server who's fun to watch as he serves for no one (yeah, I realize how funny that sounds) and most of my affection comes from Fate/Zero. I do agree though that he was less of a douche (mainly I say this because of how he stayed alive in Fate/Stay Night) in Fate/Zero. I had a hard time picking a favorite character from the Fate/Stay Night universe as there are plenty that are close to matching him on how much I like them (Rin, Kirei, Rider, and others).
