Just as I thought HotD coudn't become any more ecchi, this OVA appeared XD Even though this really had nothing much to do with the original story line in my opinion, I enjoyed watching it! :D Like I said it's a very ecchi episode, but some of the things that happened made me LOL forever XD
I don't think I can really say much else about it, if you've seen HotD and you liked it, or if you're in for a good laugh and don't mind lots of ''almost-nudeness'', then I'd say; watch this! ;)

I started watching this anime because I had heard a lot of positive things about it, and after watching an amv I really wanted to watch it myself as well!

From the very beginning this story was very gripping! Mystery, tension and amazing action filled the first few episodes, and kept me wanting to watch more episodes! A few episodes in, in my opinion, the story loses it's tension and suspension a bit, and inclines more to the ecchi side, which I think was a shame. But that didn't mean that I didn't like HotD anymore, because even though less exciting as before, the storyline is still engaging, and there were plenty of funny moments that got me rolling on the floor laughing XP
Here just a quick overview of good and bad points of this anime:

Good:
- The story was really gripping, fascinating and captivating during the first few episodes!
- The animation is outstanding! :D
- The music really enhanced the feeling and the atmosphere the episodes had to have, they couldn't have done the music any better! ^^
- The action scenes are simply awesome!
- There is a good bit of humour in here, and I think HotD is guaranteed to make you laugh a lot! :P

Bad:
- Especially in the last couple of episodes the storyline focuses too much on the ecchi stuff imo. I didn't mind the occasional panty shots and ecchi moments in the first few episodes because they didn't obstruct the storyline, but later on I feel like the ecchi things have actually become the storyline, which I found a shame.

So overall a big 8! :D read more

I initially decided to watch Makai Senki Disgaea because I thought the drawing style was cute. And it was, though MSD was quite different than I'd expected I guess. The first half was okay, but at a certain point I must admit there were moments that I thought MSD was a bit boring, and in the first episodes not much happens, or at least not much very exciting stuff. I kind of missed the "deeper meaning" of the story... But the last four episodes were quite different! From episode 9 on I started to enjoy MSD much more because it gets more interesting and the series finally start becoming "deeper". But I won't get into details, so you should just go and watch it for yourselves ;D Overall, a 7 because it was close to a six in the beginning, and close to an 8 in the ending :) If you want a "light" anime that is easy to understand and enjoyable I would recommend MSD to you, but if you're looking for an anime with a more complicated plot then MSD is probably not interesting for you. Here just a short point by point review:

Story: Good. Like I said, in the beginning it was quite plain, but towards the ending it got more of a deeper meaning.
Art: Great, beautiful character design, and the computer images really fit in perfectly and all the effects are wonderfully done!
Sound: Very good. Overall the sounds and music really were suitable for the story though some scenes could do with a change of soundtrack and there were also scenes that the music just brilliantly intensified your emotions.
Character: very good. Overall the characters are quite stereotypical, but especially in the last few eps you really notice their character changes, which makes the story better and more interesting.
Enjoyment: Good. Like I said, in the first few eps, it wasn't really particularly enjoyable, aside from some funny (visual) jokes. In the last few eps it becomes more enjoyable, though most of the jokes remain plain and not very spectacular in my opinion.

Origin: Spirits of the Past was a very good film! The art is very beautiful and the sound really matches every situation in the film: when there's a sad part, the music makes you feel even more sad, and when there is a scene full of suspense or action the music drains you into the story. The characters were not really special, in fact you could hardly see any character-change, but that didn't make the story less good! The storyline was in my opinion great, but others might think it cliché. So although the storyline and characters could have been better, the art, sound, and overall enjoyment made up for that. I just can't really explain why, but this film just grasped my attention! I was focused on the story and enjoyed it till the end, and I just loved the songs by Kokia, BTW X) So here you go: a 10!!! read more

I didn't enjoy this "special" at all to be honest. It is literally a picture DRAMA; watching it was not enjoying at all. In fact its just 11 minutes of talk about the entrails animals. It isn't even funny, even though it probably was supposed to be... So you could watch it if you want, but don't expect too much of it: its just looking at three different pictures talking about stuff that does not add anything to the story of the original series.

When I first started Kämpfer I hadn't got the slightest idea as to what it would be about. So after the first episode I was a bit surprised. Kämpfer is an ecchi shoujo-ai/comedy/action anime, and because I had never seen an other ecchi series before, I just had to get used to it a bit. Right from the start of this anime I was slightly puzzled because you don't know why things are the way they are. It is just a fact, no explanation. At the 11th episode there is some sort of conclusion as to why things are happening, but still, the storyline is a bit vague. The art is really outstanding. I love the way it is drawn, very detailed; really a pleasure for the eye ^^. The characters were good. Most of them though have flat personalities, but some of the characters' personalities change in ways you would not expect. As I already said, there is definitely some humour in this anime. Not a lot but just enough to make it a bit more enjoyable. Overall I first wanted to give it a 9, but I didn't. Why? Because the last two episodes were a bit disappointing. The forelast episode is actually the last episode, because the story is "concluded" there. And what annoyed me was that at the most exciting moment in the story, where the music should have been exciting fighting music, the music was some sort of weird German happy childish song. That really spoiled the moment for me. And the last episode in fact does not make sense at all. You'd expect the story to be brought to a nice, sense-making end there, but in fact that episode does not add anything to the story at all. But still overall I looked forward to every episode, even though the last two episodes were a bit of a shame. read more

Zombie-Loan is overall a good anime. It consists of 11 episodes. The storyline is quite clear, although the ending didn't really end the story for me. Maybe there will be a second season, or the makers just decided to let the viewer decide for themselves how the story would end. The art is very nice and detailed, and the sound and music was very appropriate in each situation. The characters have a clear personality, but they aren't all flat characters because some of them change a little throughout the story. In every episode there is humour, and that makes it enjoyable too! When a funny moment occurs, the characters are drawn differently: more simple and that enhances the funny moments a lot, at least that's what I thought XD! Overall, and 8 because the story is good but I have seen better ones, too. There could have been some improvement to the story, in my opinion. But still, I would recommend watching Zombie-Loan: it is worthwhile! read more

Chobits is a series about a student and his persocom, a kind of humanoid robot. The first few episodes are just an introduction to the real story: the mystery of Chii and finding out whether or not she is a special persocom. When you find out that Chii is not a normal persocom, the story became more interesting for me. Some episodes in between however are just humorous and have little to do with the real storyline, and every nine episodes there is an episode that repeats all the important parts of the serie untill now. The art is nice and there is plenty of humour in it, although the serie has a very good and serious storyline. There were also some moments in this serie that almost made me cry, because I just got into the story so much, so to me that is a sign that this serie is really good. So overall, really a must watch!!! read more
