Maybe cause MALs popularity increased a lot recently. Idk how a lot of people are finding this site, if they are making advert somewhere or not but I joined in 2010 being in the range of 310-320k member and 2 years exactly after aka now we have around 1.3 million so far. So you really can expect a lot of activeness.
Here I watch practically every anime genres with the exception of yaoi and boys love.
Less of horror and psychological.
Most favorited are Shounen, Comedy and Ecchi. :D
One Piece, Gintama, Fairy Tail are some of my most fav anime.
Otherwise I like my slice of life/romance more with comedy like Baka to test, school rumble and kaichou wa maid sama than comedy with drama/tragedy like shuffle.
In short Comedy is like god to me cause it fits nearly most of other anime genres. :D
I love ecchi a lot too. Some of my favorite ecchi anime are Rosario vampire, Sora no Otoshimono, Kiss x Sis, Motto to love ru, B Gata H kei and HOTD not including the 2011 and recent one.
Harem fans unite huh, again nice to meet you then :D

Hmm..
Some people say these are harem, some don't. Anyway, its 1 guy and alot of girls;
Clannad - Really good anime. I highly recommend.
Clannad After Story ( season 2 ) - Best anime out there, at least that's my opinion and many others aswell. Try to avoid reading about the anime, incase of spoilers, just watch!
Kanon 2006 - Also a really good anime

Aha, i see. I started watching anime in November last year, so I'm kinda "new" aswell. At least i feel like a newbie when it comes to anime. But still my list is very long ( i haven't been to school last year or this, just a part-time job, so time is my friend )
Then let me know, if you want any recommendations! Man i wish i could go back in time, just to watch the top anime again, hah. Rom/com is what I've seen the most of so.. Let me know!

And i also happened to notice you are gonna watch Toradora soon. As in Shuffle, don't quit after 1 episode, and just continue to like 3+. ( i dropped it a few months ago after watching the first episode, but to pick it up again and now its my favourite rom/com anime ever ).
