About PBz0r
I'm 18 years old, Dutch, I watch anime on my PC, having started with Azumanga Daioh in late 2004, and I joined this site because I'm moe for statistics. I also to some extent enjoy writing reviews, but I've only done two so far. Check them out if you have the time.

I do give shows a rating while I'm still watching and I also rate dropped series (I know, bad boy). To give people an idea what these numbers imply:
10 - Rated twice. I'm an Evangelion-fanboy and I know it.
9 - Rated 24 times. Especially ambitious or enjoyable. Personal favourites and instant classics.
8 - Rated 30 times. Very good. Shows I'd want every anime fan to see.
7 - Rated 45 times. Enjoyable shows that can't really seem to jump from the crowd. Passable.
6 - Rated 42 times. Uninspired, but still enjoyable for one or two reasons.
5 - Rated 25 times. Rip-offs, borefests and the like. Generally a waste of time.
4 - Rated 10 times. Likely a less celebrated product of SUNRISE or GONZO.
3 - Rated twice. You gotta try hard to make a shitfest this bad.
2 - Rated once. Chobits made my blood boil.
1 - Boku no DSFARGEG.

These figures don't apply to mango's as I don't read em a lot. Also, please note I rate 1,25 points lower than most people on this site. Really, I loved Minami-ke. That's why I gave it a 7. No hard feelings.

NOT THE TROLLS! NOT THE TROLLS! ANYTHING BUT THAT!

Why why, an alleyway meeting is in order!

Starts a little slow, then becomes incredibly epic and amazing. Good choice! Oh, and watch the series first, not the movies. Some of them have big spoilers in them for what happens later on.

Yeh I know lots of people don't see FLCL as anything deep. Your not the first to say that to me. But there's a lot of stuff there, you begin to notice, after a few times watching it but it's not easy to see. It is deep, but very hard to grasp. Many just see it as a silly over the top anime, and move on.

I thought I had End of Eva on my list, but didn't. So thanks to you I added it haha. Thanks again. And "Now and Then, Here and There" is amazing. One of the best anime series ever made, hands down. That's an anime that needs more fans! I love it!

LoL dude I have End of Evangelion on DVD. I watched it like 5 times! Amazing Movie. I think it's my favorite anime movies, but IMO the TV series ending was better. Thanks for your concern tho :)

Otome was bullshit. There I have made myself clear. And I absolutely HATED the two main leads. I did, however, enjoy enough parts of the show to warrant my rating. Certain parts were pretty awesome. More fun than story i'm afraid... Its not like I was expecting much though, I almost didnt watch it because I thought "wtf" @ the ANN description pic, "did they just get younger???"

yea...

girl | 09-21-08, 7:58 AM
Actually, i think you have seen more series than me. Your list looks bigger (that might be because you list movies and specials and i dont)

And im not sure how i started watching R+ kind of things....I just watched Dokuro-chan (which is seriously messed up xD) and i think that got me into ecchi ^^;

LOL, I hate barbies. XD I cut off their hair, strip them and then hang them :D

girl | 09-21-08, 5:43 AM
Wow....you have dropped some of my favourite series :(

The first time I saw Berserk I was mad, probably more than you since it was the first "real" anime I had seen. For two weeks I couldn't stop thinking about how they ruined the show with that ending. But once I started reading the manga I found that every event was perfectly explained. The story for Berserk is just spectacular, can I really discredit the anime for lacking the funds to continue making more episodes? No. The show would have explained it perfectly if they had made another season.

I read your review of Mai-Hime and I disagree with some of it. I wholeheartedly agree that the first 10 eps were pretty awful (I almost gave up on the show), but then the show takes a drastic turn and becomes much more deep. The ending worked for me because I was caught up in it and didn't care that they all came back to life. In fact, I'm glad that happened (I couldn't take another Berserk ending that soon, I'd be depressed for months). At that point I was having too much fun watching the show to be disappointed by that. If you want to talk about horrible unexplained events, watch Mai-Otome (actually don't watch it, I don't wish that upon any human being). It has one of the worst endings I've ever seen. I hate that show more than any other anime. They flew naked through the atmosphere and lived wtf? NEVER explained, along with about 20 other terrible twists that just happened for the sake of happening.

Unexplained events that I find inexcusable are ones that you find in the endings of Claymore, Mai-Otome, Monster, Death Note, Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid, and so on. There's also a show called Utawarerumono, whose ending embodies everything I despise about anime. It's the most contrived, convoluted, despicable mess of a conclusion since the last 12 eps of Death Note.

Alright, that's what I'm talking about. 8 is acceptable. I don't understand why you thought the ending sucked though. To me, it is the most shocking and powerful thing I have ever seen in an anime.

Mai-Hime's ending wasn't bad at all, I liked that show quite a bit. As for Claymore, I have that ranked on my list of most hated endings. It was insanely bad, but the show went downhill after ep 8 anyway. In fact, the entire second half of that show is repetitive and boring, The fight in the cave dragged on waaaay too long and I nearly dozed off countless times. Don't even get me started on the last 6 eps.

One of my major problems with anime is that so many of them build enormous potential and then squander it all by the end. So many shows that I was about to give 9s or 10s just throw all logic out the window in their final episodes. This is usually where unexplained events start occuring, which pisses me off to no end.

I've never seen Love Hina so I can not say anything about that. The genre has its pieces of shit and its gems like everything else. I think my favorite of the genre would probably be Bokura Ga Ita (which has a rotten op so be warned) with Suzuka coming close after as well as Ef Tale of Memories, and the very disturbing SaiKano.

My Bokura Ga Ita has a unique and bizarre art style that takes a bit of getting used to. Im guessing Suzuka can probably get you into the genre better since dudes can relate to sports and shit like that. Its funny that you saw School Days. I had seen a few shows in that genre before hand so I never saw that FD up shit coming and it hit like a ton of bricks.
