You need to watch Bakemonogatari as soon as you find the time. Even if I'm the nine thousandth-and-first person to recommend it to you I make no apologies in saying so. Really. In the meantime, good luck with the exams, you no-good student. :P

What's so appealing about the Chinese electric Batman?

I had the chance to watch the Bakeneko episode of Mononoke, and it was bizarrely fascinating.

Indeed I did sir! Really fine stuff, and much more riveting and emotionally involving than I had expected. The kind of thing that I started to feel bad about not having got round to earlier. I'll be interested to hear your 'take' on it.

Ah, yes, what were your thoughts on Eden of the East? Was my crying foul of the writing justified?

Hmm, I didn't know that little feature existed. MAL has all sorts of things hidden away in its dark recesses.
Part of why I like Blue Sub 6 so much is just its trappings. If a show wants to get on my good side, it can employ capital ships, or a post-apocalyptic setting -- and if it does both, my childish glee will be gleeful indeed.
The show it reminds me of most is Last Exile; it has those parallel threads of coming of age and dealing with past failures/disappointments (though Blue Sub 6 does more with the latter), and it includes a similar sort of ridiculously capable villainous organization. But while Last Exile mostly plays its villains straight, Blue Sub 6 does surprising things with its villains toward the end. I can see how the ending might put some viewers off, and it probably would've benefited from another episode worth of development, but it's the sort of ending I really enjoy lately.
One could probably get environmental and war-is-bad themes out of it, if one wanted to. But to me, from the angle of the main characters, it just felt very human.

Haha...o well, sucks for them. I actually was going to put up off-topic post as a tribute to her unbelievable success at ladies world championship (for ice skating) but didn't think that much people would care. Now that you mention it I might as well put up some youtube clips of her performance as a belated celebration.

From the OP it looks like the dead not-Nanoha girl transforms into some kind of spiritual armour, or something? Also it sounds to my untutored ears like Angela have borrowed some of Ali Project's sound, but that could be me. General pre-sub opinion on Basquash seems to be that its backgrounds and design work is really good.
The Eden of the East thing is probably not unlike my reaction to Clannad, though more muted: I might well watch it in the autumn, or something.

The premise for Asura Cryin' interests me, for some reason, and it has powersuits/mecha/whatever they are, which might help to pass the time. Furthermore, the director worked on Nanoha A's and StrikerS, and one of the writers has done script work on Gankutsuou, Vandread, Kotetsushin Jeeg (good signs) . . . but also SEED Destiny (ugh). We'll have to see what happens. I won't be especially disappointed if it still bores me.
Lots of people said they might watch Eden of the East, so I thought I wouldn't, at least not while it's airing.
What about you, what're you planning to watch?

I thought I might try Asura Cryin', Basquash and Sengoku Basara, and the new Mazinger Z of course. I don't think subs are out for any of those yet, though I probably haven't looked everywhere.

Haha. It's not a cut-out. I photoshopped it.
