Here is how I rank and grade my anime and manga:
1 - 5 (The Bottom Of The Barrel):
Various levels of crap. To sum up, the words "Why, oh why did I ever start this in the first place?" to the point where it just dragged on and got bad. Anime like this is hard for me to find since I have particular taste and I only use recommendations from my friends like Nataki.
6 (The Marvelous Mediocrity):
Mediocre at best. Stuff like this usually bides my time until I get something new coming along. Things in this category tend to have either filler, little character development, predictable plot lines each episode, endless meaningless dialogue, or other things that make me almost want to go outside for a change.
7 and 8 (Fine-Tuned Flicks):
Anime and manga in here are things that I can get along with. In this section, the story, art, or characters can keep me interested enough to make me feel curious about what happens next or can keep me interested in the wide spectrum of the series in a whole. Worthwhile to entertaining falls into this category
9 (Electrifying Entertainment):
Very good. Anime in here kept me wanting more each time. The story, art, character development was there and done well. The stories varied, yet helped drive the whole experience of the series further into the world that it is set in rather than droning on. Anime/manga in here deserves a viewing or two since it is memorable, but not a perfect anime in my sense (read below for further details).
10 (Magnificent Masterpieces):
A masterpiece. Each episode here did something new or kept me wanting more as each minute passed by. Stuff like the memorable new plots in each episode of Mnemosyne or Cowboy Bebop. The art style is top-notch, the story, incredible, and the characters felt like they seemed to have depth, personality and a likeness to real life people/had real types of problems and emotions. Very worthwhile to watch.

Your review for Mnemosyne was fantastic and i agree with you. I've only seen 2 of the episodes and I'm instantly hooked. Anyway, have a good one.
