Oh, and about the name: Here's how it's pronounced. You can also shorten it to NyuSan if you want, or Nyuu, or you can do the whole 6 minutes, tribal chanting and all.

I hope you realize arguing with Solvite is a complete waste of time considering their rookie plebeian tastes. Put your faith in Hiroshi Nagahama, he is a good anime director.

Please see my Post #974 for Episode 1 of Aku no Hana. I am
interested in your point of view.

You should give Tari Tari a try.

No problem! I'm glad I was able to share it, and even more glad that someone read the post :P Pendulum really was a heartbreaker, and I'm pretty sure everyone they showed during the live premiere of it teared up as well.

Yeah TWEWY is my favorite game; the music, the gameplay, the story I loved everything. Did you read that guy's post about the sequel? I can't wait. After "Borderland" I have officially fallen in love with Kawada Mami's voice.

What anime are you looking forward to in Fall?

VioLink | 09-23-12, 5:41 PM
Hmmmm, me and you are very a like. I am a huge fan of Mawaru Penguindrum, Baccano, Tsuritama, and Jinrui wa suita shimashita. We even have the same favorite character. Let's get along.

"But seriously, I'm curious. What ticked you off so bad about Death Note? "

I don't really remember. It just felt kinda try hard,I guess.

Amazing.

Sorry, I haven't watched too many shorts, but I'm definitely interested after Genius Party. It's like watching a new anime every 15 minutes. Well, I haven't tried them yet, but you could try Ani Kuri and Sweat Punch.

Yup, Pure Thrust is certainly up there.

"I've been neglecting AMVs for all the "let the bodies hit the floor" Naruto fight montages"
- Well, it's like anime, there will always be good and bad ones, and I've amassed tons of excellent pieces. I don't want to suffocate your comments, but I'll pick one from three great artists -- 720p them:

And, of course, plenty more where those came from.

I highly, highly recommend you give "5 cm per Second" a shot if you want "nice shots of pure nature." Or, well, anything from Shinkai I'd imagine.

Haha, you must be something of an audiophile to have the Grado SR60. Or friends with one. I haven't tried them myself, but I'm definitely more than content with my set: the Koss UR40. The lightest and most comfortable circumaural set I've ever worn, with sound from the legendary KSC-75 drivers pulled out to an immense soundstage. All for 25 bucks.

Yup, big fan of Nostromo, and, well, AMVs in general. My favorite work of his, though the overall sound (especially bass) seems very dull on youtube:

About Genius Party, I actually made a thread ranking my enjoyment of each short (though MAL and its silly programming screwed up the poll): http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=386237
Gala's my favorite by far. You?

"One Piece is a crazy story and it treats itself as such"
i should probably respect that much right? if you look at it that way it makes it, at least objectively, not a bad anime, although that doesn't mean i'm going to like it. ^^" there were moments in there were i just couldn't bring myself to well, swallow it, i guess. there were also parts of it that i did enjoy though, whenever they tried to be serious mostly, but then when i almost sympathized with the characters they'd turn around and do something completely stupid or unbelievable. but i'm pretty sure thats mostly my problem though so maybe i shouldn't be so scathing about one piece.
with naruto, well, as i said it was the first anime i watched, i didn't really have any standards or idea of what was good, so it was probably easier to care about the characters, and even though i might find them annoying now, they were, i'm pretty sure, at least consistent. then again i'm mostly describing why it isn't complete shit here not why anyone should think it good. in the end it mostly comes down to my enjoyment, and back then i really did enjoy naruto. i think you did change my mind about once piece a little.
have a nice day.

lepthymo | 11-14-11, 9:31 AM
by the way, what makes you give one piece a 7 while you give naruto and bleach a 4 and a 3 respectively? everybody seem to really like one piece but after 40 or so episodes i still couldn't figure out why, i didn't like the art, i guess that's subjective but most importantly it seemed like they didn't even try to make the characters believable.
i didn't particularly like most charaters from naruto, naruto himself was rather annoying most of the time, sasuke has no personality to speak of and sakura is mostly just there so people can hope she and naruto get together at one point. but at least they seem to have wanted to give them some dimensions, and in many of the more dramatic moments of the series the reaction of the characters seemed natural. with one piece the characters just seem to be there to create ridiculous situations and all the drama was ruined by their weak attempts at humor. your complaints about naruto make a lot of sense though, i might very well have had the same opinion if i started watching it now. i just dont really see how you can prefer one piece to it while the complaints seem to apply even more there?
anyways have a nice day, hope you dont mind my ranting.

Just completed Baccano!. Not bad, not bad at all. Actually pretty much everything was great. Seen one episode of EF 2, rather boring and uninteresting. I guess it gets for better but nothing hooking about it yet.

I'm sure you would like Rainbow if you give it another try. Kanon '06 was good but in the same time I hate Key cause they doesn't seem to have an idea how to make ending in the name of story and plot. Angel Beats is best of them, imo, so I don't recommend you to take look to others. And yes, I dislike moe, those eyes, do not like. Oh, and I watched Nekojiru-sou yesterday. Have a look, it's amazing. From Yuasa Masaaki and, well you know, made in the name of brillaintness. And, he also wrote the script by himself.

Karhu | 09-25-11, 8:25 AM
Yes, exactly. I loved the idea, how many things are happening in the same time, how they are connected and the direction style. But it lacks balance. Saika arc was fine on the same time some other arcs and episodes felt great. Like you have seen ef - a tale of memories. There that train station amnesia story was amazing, I thought other romances where just shit when compared to that. That's one of the reasons why I gave it "only" a 7 to like I gave to DRRR. Baccano made me say word "brilliant" several times already. Based to 3 episodes this is exactly what DRRR should have been. Didn't watch more yesterday since was night time and the story line is something I want to follow when I'm on my best condition. I just love stories where there ain't any useless seconds of screen time and where I actually need to use my brains. So I watched Kanon at night, lol.

Yeah, but I'm jealous that you have seen so many great animes already. I can only recommend Rainbow Nisha from animes I've seen and you haven't. It's quite unique since it feels really realistic, has amazing characters and deep friendship, quite bromance. If you like crime and thriller movies then this anime is definitely for you.

Nakamura Asumiko is there cause them stories always surprise me. I have no idea how to rate them, they are nothing like usual stories, they are so deep and has always something important to say. Best I've read; I'm a piano - and Perfect World. Look those from youtube, they aren't on any mangareaders.

Karhu | 09-24-11, 4:36 AM
That might be true. I've recommended it for couple persons who has Mirai Nikki on their favorites since I think Tsukihime is seinen version of Mirai Nikki. Not completely like but most similar in many ways. I noticed similarities with Bokurano in first chapter, it feels really same and the story really started to improve like in Hoshi no Samidare. Someone also made recs for those two, check it out if you wanna know more about how they are similar. I think I steal Baccano from your list, been on my PTW list for sometime and looks promising since you gave it a 10 to. I was somewhat disappointed at Durarara.

You have a point so I can see why you gave it a 5 to. It's okay if you think in that way. I'm planning to rewatch it so that might (and probably will) change my thoughts about it since Angel Beats! was anime which opened my eyes to whole different kinda anime back then when I watched it (it was when I hardly had watched any anime). My theory about Kanade being there first; Time is nonlinear in the afterlife, like is said in the anime. Also, its said that Otonashi's soul wondered before arriving there cause of the actions he made just before he died. That was also the reason why he didn't remember things from his life at first. You can also think he wasn't fully dead since his heart was alive. Ending does make sense if you think that Otonashi understood Kanade's love even when it was unspoken which made him to move forward to where all others went. It was really open so just theories. Unneeded happiness maybe but I did like it in Angel Beats unlike almost every other show.
