Yo! My name's Ben, or you can call me Norman, Norm, or really whatever you like. XD I'm just a 24 year-old guy from the Chicago area who happens to be a fan of anime. I got started in my childhood watching shows like Pokemon and DBZ, but it was Azumanga Daioh years later that got me hooked on anime. Nowadays slice of life, comedy, drama, and romance are my favorite genres, but I can enjoy many types of anime if given the chance. I don't watch quite as much as I used to due to lack of time, but I still try to find some time for anime now and then.
As far as related interests go, I don't read much manga but I love visual novels. They're one of the reasons behind my declining time for anime. (btw, you can check out my VNDB account here.) Other hobbies of mine include reading, video games, baseball, and SCIENCE! 8D
I've recently picked up an interest in learning languages, too. I'm taking Russian classes and also trying to teach myself a little German and Swedish. (Yes, I'm an anime fan trying to learn three languages, and Japanese isn't one of them. I have no weaboo cred. XD)

Hmm... maybe I will give it a shot. I could always use something new and different. I agree that scripted with sports is not as exciting, but it's always worth a shot especially since I do love baseball!
Good news! I got a children's librarian job!! I'm so excited to start in a couple weeks!! Have a good break try to relax!

Just came to drop by. Checked some discussions of yours with random people from Russia, and duh, your language is AWESOME. Not perfect, of course, but EXTREMELY GOOD, especially considering you're a beginner and considering how tough Russian is for a native English-speaker. ^_^

У нас была команда из 5ти человек,мы делали Black Rock Shooter, я была Strength :3
Это невообразимо много :О Я думаю даже в Москве больше 5000 человек не наберётся, там,наверное,очень легко потеряться :D
У нас нет бейсбола,к сожалению,но у меня есть бита и перчатка питчера ,иногда летом мы с друзьями даже играем ,это забавно,хоть никто и не умеет нормально отбивать) Хотелось бы когда-нибудь посмотреть настоящую игру.
Я люблю аниме про спорт ,особенно Major , ещё мне нравится Prince of Tennis,он довольно глупый ,но я люблю теннис. Eyeshield 21 тоже очень хорошее аниме.
Тебе понравился Robotics;Notes ?

Det var ganska länge sen jag spelade ef. Tyckte dock att den var ganska bra och rekommenderar stort! Den var ganska annorlunda från animen, med mindre drama. Jag har dock bara spelat Miyakos och Yuukos routes, så de andra kan vara annorlunda.

I love baseball but I am always unsure of reading sports manga. Maybe I will give it a shot.
I saw Ironman 3 the other day! It was really good! I want to see Star Trek: Into the Darkness next! That looks really good too! Anything else new with you?

I många fall så har det varit så för mig att season 2 inte har varit lika bra. Dock så tyckte jag att Yuru Yuri season 2 var lika bra som season 1! Det är en av de få som jag känner lever upp till första säsongen. :')
Still waiting for a season 2 of Highschool Of The Dead! <333 Jag hörde av min kusin att det kommer komma en till säsong i sommar men det kanske bara är rykten.. :] Hopefully not!

I could see it suffering from cliches and that's interesting that some characters are flat, everyone that I know has been raving about the books and I never could really figure out why, they sounded just okay to me. That is hilarious that the sex scenes are horrible ! :D haha!!
That's good that school is going well. I bet it will be nice to have a break even if it is just for a little while.
Are you going to any conventions this summer? Reading or watching anything that I should check out?

that's interesting. Anything in particular that you didn't like/like without completely giving it away? haha ;)
Yeah I didn't have to deal with any flooding either but some of the roads by me were pretty bad and flooded. Yea my manager's kids were off of school for like 3 days because of the flooding. It was really bad out by des plaines but that river does flood often just not this bad this quick. That must have been nice to not have class. Are you almost done with the semester? How's it been going?
