Ah ok, that I can understand. I also really don't understand the need to watch series over and over, for me it ruins it if you watch something too much. I have watched a few episodes more than once (mainly just my favourites) but I don't think I have re-watched a whole series that often. Cat Soup I watched a few times, mainly because the first time round it made next to no sense, so I guess it is an exception. Ok, I guess I don't need to bother then, just presumed it must be good or something to be worth of rewatching over favourites.

Ok, I looked Now and Then, Here and There up on MAL and I can completely agree on the point about her eyes.. Is it any good? I am interested in finding out how depressing it is (that may sound weird, but yeah, I'm weird..) although those eyes may make doing so difficult.

I used to only read manga and watched hardly any anime so I was the reverse. I admit Fruits Basket was one of the first things I collected, although I gave up on it pretty soon after. Oh Gravitation, I think I know of it haha..
I also tried committing to Naruto but it just wasn't happening. Unlike you, I don't think there was a specific part that put me off, it just seemed to keep going on and on with nothing to really keep my interest. That's a shame, there is a few cases where the manga is somewhat better than the anime, but I can see how it could be a problem staying interested in/ keeping attention to continue them.

I don't even know, there was just something about it that bothered me and nothing about it kept me interested, so I just couldn't watch anymore. It might be because I had such high expectations (I have a friend who loves it and kept trying to get me to watch it so I finally caved.) and then I started watching it and couldn't understand the hype. I guess the comic relief didn't do it for me, but I didn't really stick it out long enough for it to, but I can see how it would improve it. Yeaah, whenever I tell people I don't like it, that is always brought up, but I guess I didn't really get a chance to see how deep/emotinoal/sad etc it was because I gave up after maybe 2 or 3 episodes because I had better things to watch.

I can be pretty forgiving too, but only if the plot or some other aspect makes up for it.
Yeah, I can understand that, although I don't have many that I rewatch often, so it takes something special for me. I still haven't gotten round to actually finishing Chuunibyou yet, I probably should.
Never given any of those a thought nor a chance, is their style that bad? Although I think I did read a small amount of Special A a while back but I gave up on it.
Yeah, long necks I can understand, they bother me a bit too. If it looks too unnatural it is just displeasing to look at. There has been a lot of manga I have tried reading recently that I just stopped because I hated how it looked. My list for manga is pretty out dated though, I've got all the pretty bad stuff I read years ago on it.
I can actually understand the vendetta, I didn't particularly like it that much myself. I watched it with a group though and they all seemed to really enjoy it so I decided I must have missed something. I should probably re-watch it sometime and see.
I have the same view on Angel Beats.. almost everyone I know who has watched it is horrified that I couldn't bring myself to complete it because I just didn't like it.

It's alright, completely not your fault. Sorry about deleting it, I decided it didn't make much sense and couldn't think of words to replace it. But it was basically questioning the taste in anime part, I wasn't sure if it was a positive or negative thing. I'm glad it was a positive thing, a lot of people call my tastes "weird" and it's nice to find someone who agrees that they are good. (or at least I presume you agree as we have a few favourites that are the same..)
That is true, it is pretty rare. So much anime just follow the same typical plot line and it gets tiring because you know what will happen in the end, so it's not really worth watching. Art style would be another important trait for me I suppose, so not just plot.

True true. I guess it just depends on the audience you're reviewing for. The stream of consciousness one, as you say, is helpful to those who have seen something before and are maybe looking at reviews to get further insight or because they can't quite recall it. But these types of reviews may not be as helpful for someone who has never before seen the show and who is trying to determine if the time investment is worth it. The distinction is interesting. Thanks for bringing that point up!

Well thank you very much for saying so and glad you got something out of it. Although, to be honest, I realized after writing that review that it was much more of a frustrated rant than anything constructive. So I can't say it being pushed to the unhelpful side is unjust. If I were able, there'd be several aspects of it I'd re-write to make it helpful. As is, it really is just rambling that's mostly only coherent to those who have seen the film already.

But again, very happy that that harangue yielded some merit to someone. ^_~

Oh my goodness, first person to agree with my opinion on Hyouka, I think I love you. <3

Certainly, I wasn't the only one who was outraged by Monster-Kun's blantant sexism, since parts of aniblogosphere had much to say on this subject as well. Unfortunately, I think the reason MAL commentators stayed quiet was three-fold: (1) To make that argument without sounding like a maniac requires much more time than an average MAL commentator is willing to put forth. (2) MAL users are predominately male, who have become comfortable with much of the sexism in anime, so it instinctively doesn't strike a bigger chord than it should. (3) It's very easy, with the direction the anime is taking, to say that Monster-kun didn't mean it and take his sexism (and violence) as a comedic aspect of the show.

I am glad the show has toned down on the sexism, but I'm still looking forward to the moment Monster-kun is confronted of his sexist and violent tendencies. So far, the show seems to claim that our genius Monster-kun just never realized what his consequences meant. We can continue this conversation if you are interested.
