Hi,
I have finally send you the photos (I got some problems with that, so hopefully you will get it, if not, tell me, and I will find another way). I would be definitely interested in the ghost city, as well as in the lake :)

I´m watching GitS right now (completed original movie - which was best imo - SAC, watching SAC 2nd gig. Movies Innocence and Solid State Society tommorow). I see you have rated SAC 2nd gig pretty low, how so? I find it even better than SAC. Motoko is not so emotionless (that´s the only problem about her and makes her kinda unrealistic, still I like her. It´s nice to see a mature woman, not some loli kids ...) and Kuze is excellent and interesting "enemy". The story is not so deep as in SAC, yet interesting and the refugee problem is actual and somewhat touching ...

Hitch-hiking was ... fun heh. It was during my trip in Czech country side. I did not catch the last bus, so this was the only way to find my way home (I was in a hurry). After half an hour stepping right next to the highway with my thumb up, a nerdy guy take me and I spent about 2 hours in his car I guess. Nice experience, but it´s much more interesting to base a whole trip on hitch-hiking, don´t you think so? That guy I was talking about hitch-hiked from Czech Republic to India (through the continent). Then he spent few months there and went back. Just plain crazy I would say. And pretty scary too - imagine going through Pakistan´s semi-desert in an old car with people you do not know, nor understand.

I´m glad you like Onanie, the end is much weaker tho ...

japonecka | 10-09-10, 2:24 AM
oh, and I forgot: good you are reading Onanie Master Kurosawa. Great fun, resemble Great Teacher Onizuka. Definitely the best "better-than-it-sounds" ever :)

Heya!
It´s finally a weekend. Well I´m not an extroverted person you know. But in the end it turned out pretty well, school does consume pretty much time, but it is not as bad as I imagined :) What about you?

Nope I have not seen Dexter, but few of my friends recommended it. hope you enjoyed that horror. "The Exorcist" really is a good movie. I remember when I watched it for the first time and I was like: "What the hell ... ?!"

Well if I resemble some of my favourites: it´s hard to decide, but I guess "Epsilon", but I don´t have so long hair also I wear glasses :) when it comes to nature ... eh ... maybe little more dirty Hajime from Hiroki Endo´s Tanpenshu :D

I see you have completed Mononoke, what do you think about it? I also like Kusuriuri (I absolutely like how slowly he talks and how his smile is drawed). I think best episodes were: the woman who created her own prison, olfactive episode and the last one. Though the art is shiny (I´m amazed by that, guess only Gankutsou can compare to it) the general atmosphere is really dark and horror like.

Nope I have not tried it yet. I have hitch-hiked in past, but I did not try to get to some random distant palce. But I know about guy who hitch-hiked to India ^^ which sounds dsomewhat unbelieveable for me ...

I will definitely send you some photos of Prague :) just wait a little, I think winter photos would set the mood.

japonecka | 09-24-10, 2:33 AM
Ahoj,
How are you? Has school already started for you? I will start next week, so I´m enjoying last days of freedom (sigh ... meeting new people who will chat about some unimportant things and will try to be friendly). I have completed few movies I wanted to watch for a long time. "Dead Man" with Johnny Depp, "Seppuku" and "Black Cat, White Cat" by Kosturica. Tommorow I would like to watch "Yurika". What about you, something catched your attention?
I have finally obtained "Blade of the Immortal artbook" - I was left deaf and blank - the drawing is really beautiful. Samura Hiroaki is genius!

One Piece is rather boring up to now. Few of my friends said it´s pretty good from 300. chapter. It has some good moments still it´s mediocry for me now. There are definitely better manga series.

Just curious, do you somehow resemble (act like, look like) some of your favourite characters?

Godspeed You! are godlike band. Love them, yet I can´t listen to them all day long.

Another great band is Mono

Btw have you ever tried hitch-hiking to some far place?

japonecka | 09-15-10, 1:05 PM
Hello!

It was amazing, one of the best samurai manga. I was kinda hooked to that, it´s really impresive and also ... Daigoro. Very interesting. I was unaware how child character can be created so ... naturally, if you know what I mean. Whole thing was pretty realistic, can´t rate less than 9/10 (still like BotI probably more, because there are more likeable - on the other hand less realistic - characters).

What do you mean about Otoyomegatari and Mononoke?

"The Band" - no, I have not hear them, I will add it to my list. What kind of music it is? I´m enjoying Joy Division right now ... perfect band, though somewhat rutted (mybe that´s why thier song are often about some kind of "cleansing of soul" in this modern times).

japonecka | 08-25-10, 2:07 AM
Hello, sorry for late reply ...
Well I´m kinda interested in history, wouldn´t say especially in Napoleon, but he is without doubt an unique person. I enjoyed the site. Have you visited some museum lately? I haven´t been in one for ages, I was bored with that as a kid, nowadays I would love to visit some, but I "don´t have time" (well I would have, but almost everytime I´m lazy to use my brain and I would rather go hiking or to the old town center admiring good architecture).

Well what kind of horror it is? I thing there are generally two kinds of horror - one which is slowly building unique dark atmosphere (based on having the viewer have an intellectual understanding of what happens) or one which try to scare you by some ugly scenes, extreme violence or shrink moments (based on having the viewer have only an emotional understanding of what happens). I´m a big fan of the first one :)
I guess there Will be 2nd season of Durarara!! There are too many unsolved things, like you said Celty´s head etc.

Jiraishin is a criminal manga, in some ways it does resemble Sanctuary, but the main heroes are from the police (well that does not mean they are really some "good guys"). Billy bat on the other hand is totaly different manga. Urasawa is maybe creating his best or worst piece. I´m really looking forward to it. It´s really even more mysterious than 20th Century boys. For me the best Urasawa´s works are Monster and Pluto, I would be glad to see something good again from Urasawa, because he is definitely extremely creative. I rate Billy Bat 8/10 while Jiraishin should be 9.7 (=10)/10 - I don´t do it often, so I think it really is somewhat a masterpiece. I´m looking forward to read Lone Wolf, btw have you heard about Otoyomegatari? A great manga, nowadays only 12 chapters long, so you will read it in two hours max, give it a try :)
Yes I like Bakemonogatari, though the story is heavily based only on characters. I really love Hitagi, Kanbaru, Mayoi or Shinobu. It´s not so original, but it´s nice to see once in a while something with nice romantic moments (like when Araragi and Hitagi lie under starry sk)y ... mybe I´m kinda sentimental now, but nowadays I´m really into "depresing stuff" (not just anime and manga, even books and films, so some kind of break is needed). When I started about movies - I guess you know "No Country for Old Men", don´t you?

Another Steely Dan´s songs I like? :) There are plenty of them: The Boston Rag, Any Major Dude Will Tell You, FM etc.

japonecka | 08-13-10, 4:48 AM
Hi,
How are you, and what about weather? It´s rainy here the last few days. I wasn´t doing much lately, relaxing ... What about you?

Yes, I had an opportunity to swim in the ocean.
I have visited the site where battle of Austerlitz occured ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Austerlitz ).

I have not picked up anything from this season, I have not found anything interesting enought. How is Shiki? And I see you have already finished Durarara, what do you think about it? I think the ending was less amazing than the rest of the series. 8/10.
I´m reading more manga lately - Jiraishin is pretty good, and also new work of Naoki Urasawa: Billy Bat. And I have finally completed superb epic Legend of the Galactic Heroes (11/10). Now I want to read Akira and Lone wolf and cub, which I found interesting long time ...

I´m listening Steely Dan right now, can´t get the song "Do It Again" from my head.

milky-manga | 08-04-10, 5:53 PM
I SAW YOU WATCHED EPISODE 4! Fuck yeah, did you wet your pants like I did? lol

japonecka | 07-20-10, 11:11 AM
Ahoj,
Yes, I have been in the woods during the storm once. I was half asleep, when that "maelstrom" (haha) come. Creepy and beautiful experience at the same moment. It reminds me things that are creepy and somehow beautiful at the same time (I guess they are even scarier than simply creepy things, but it´s pretty hard to describe feelings when facing some of these ...)
:D - yeah even child´s pool can be a salvation. I don´t like public pools because they are often too crowded. I´m fond of swimming in rivers or lakes where you can find a whole beach just for yourself.

I have unfortunately not read Astroboy, so I cannot compare it with Pluto, but I know that Pluto is somehow "adaptation" of Astroboy.
Yes! Gesicht´s and Epsilon´s deaths were really sad, also the talk between Atom and Helena after Gesicht´s death was pretty sad. And I don´t want to forgot the moment when their child was brutally killed and Gesicht kill the murder afterwards ...
I have not read anything by Asimov, but I definitely will. I have seen few of the film adaptations of his works (like "I Robot"), but I´m not sure if it´s really "get the feel of Asimov". Pretty good sci-fi films are "2001: The Space Odyssey", "Solaris" (The old one) and "Alien" (which is one of the creepiest movies I have ever watched).

Oh so you have wisited Gettysburg ... Nice, I´m not so good in the history of USA, but this battle is really something. I also like history, but as you have said, historical places are nowadays often used as turistic atraction, are crowded etc ...

At the end of this week, I´m going to our country house. I´m looking forward to that tranquil place, where is not internet or any other disturbing things (on the other hand, after 6 days it´s pretty boring country house :D ). This year I´m not going abroad ...

Have a nice rest of the day and take care!

Btw: will you watch something from this summer anime season? I can say something has catched my attention ...

japonecka | 07-10-10, 2:27 AM
Hey!
yeah yesterday MAL did not work. It´s got some problems once in a while, usually after 5-6 hours it´s ok again.

I kinda like storms too, though it´s somehow creepy, especially if you are in forest during the storm. The weather here is nice, maybe .. too nice :) it´s hot like hell, I´m going to swim, or I will to evaporate.

I agree with you about Brotherhood. It was really amazing anime, but it could be better. I guess the problem of anime adaptation was concentration of emotion, you know, some scenes were too emotional (and wery often it was rather funny than sad). I think manga is much better in this way. Brotherhood is worth of 8 (maybe 7)/10 while manga is 10 (maybe 9)/10. I read "Pluto" by Naoki Urasawa yesterday. It´s magnificent manga based on Osamu Tezuka´s "Astro boy" and Isaac Asimov´s books. It´s definitely worth of reading. Very sad story ...

I´m going to hike tommorow, what about you and some trips?

japonecka | 07-05-10, 1:44 PM
Hey!
now I understand why you were so surprise about temperature in my country. I was talking about Celsius degrees but you about Fahrenheit :))
Nowadays it´s really hot and it´s about 85+°F and rain or thunderstorm is usual.

japonecka | 06-27-10, 12:26 AM
Hey!
Quite a surprise, Dorohedoro is becoming more and more interesting (or am I used to those weird thing?) - since chapters 30-35.
I see you have finished "Witches", what do you think about it? For me, it´s really hard to tell something about it. It´s very unique manga, which (I guess) appeal rather on your feelings (but in very good way) than on your mind. Somehow poetical ...

And ... all tests done? :)
