Right?? Adam was my favorite from the get go bc I'm whipped for Koyasu's voice and his entire character was my type, and yes!! Did they honestly believe he'd have a sad ending?? With the director and the rest of the staff loving him the way they do?? C'mon!! It would be funny to see if they weren't so violent and annoying. And sure! They not only don't see the problem, they're so sure they're right they'll openly attack and accuse people bc of their ships and characters they like. idk if you watched SK8 The Infinity but that fandom was NASTY to everyone who liked the antagonist, they were very violent, me and some friends were attacked so many times I had to lock my acc for a while and close my DMs. And it's funny because we have science on our side and I talk to my therapist a lot about the things I like in fiction only to hear her saying that's okay again and again yet some American brats on the internet think they know better than people who study human psychology for years. Yet, instead of rethinking their actions they prefer to just take away resources from actual victims of crimes. Seriously, I'm so tired.

Ughh yes, that's exactly it!! Hell, I hate how I don't even bat an eye when I read the word "ped*philia" on twitter anymore bc I know they're not talking about a serious and hideous crime, no, they're talking about someone shipping an anime ship that 9 times outta 10 wouldn't even fit the criteria for "ped*philia" irl. They've watered down the meaning of the word so much it's ridiculous, and a lot of people (mostly teens) end up buying their idea because they use heavy, scary words. It's honestly revolting. You know, THIS is a kind of dangerous influence we should be worried about, not something shown in an anime (that is, even if it doesn't look like in our bubble, a very niche type of media).

Yeah, I agree. Like, I actually first read Furuba when I was 12, and I was raised on CLAMP and Kaori Yuki mangas + a lot of "problematic" tropes in BL manga, I also like teacher/student content in fiction and have liked it since I was young, but I had proper education so not even once I considered the thing a good idea irl. I think this discussion is not very different from people who are against violence in video-games like... You should know better to monitor what your children consume and to teach them the difference between right and wrong since they're young bc media doesn't exist for that. I've noticed many young people (idk if you use twitter?), mostly WESTERN (and especially American) young people are against "problematic" content in media and honestly this scares me so much bc it's just plain censorship.

Hello~ Just wanna say I loved your comment on that thread about Katsuya and Kyoko from Fruits Basket, I wish MAL had a function to like comments. lmao I totally agree with everything you said. It's not fictional media made for entertainment's job to educate teenagers or anyone reallu, it's their parents' and their school's. So yeah, thanks for what you said!
