Yo Mojo! I recently came across some really great movies that I think you'd be interested in. Obviously Studio 4℃ has done some great work since the Animatrix like MindGame, but they also created something that I've had on my list for quite a while and finally got around to watching called Tekkon Kinkreet. The animation was great and the story endearing. 4℃ has also made some shorts that I recently watched that blew me out of the water called Genius Party and Genius Party Beyond. It's funny that I had these titles for so long and just finally got around to watching them. Final suggestion that I'm gonna throw your way today is a real tear jerker called Barefoot Gen, since you gave Grave of the Fireflies a 10, I'm thinking you'll really enjoy and be horrified by this one. I still got some of these images burned in my head. Hope you are well.

Nice thanx for the recommendation, I'll definitely check Deadman Wonderland out. I noticed that it doesn't come out for purchase until February and I really hate reading manga on Mangafox. I think I found it on TT but it's in Russian. Looks like there are only two volumes out thus far anyways. I'll find it somewhere I'm sure.

To clarify, so are you saying that even the twenty three volume manga edition that ANN says was released and is offered on Amazon isn't the original work of Osamu Tezuka? Or were you just speaking about the three volume version that was on the Madman link I gave to you? I'm going to be very sad indeed if it's true. As spent at least doing research on Osamu Tezuka, and I was just shocked that a person that is so significant to the historical record of Manga and Anime had hardly any material translated into English. SHOCKED!!! And the stuff that is translated like Adolf, which is stated as the only work that Tezuka had translated into English towards the end of his life, is super expensive to buy new. All his work is crazy expensive like original superman and spiderman comics. I fucking sucks that his work has had such little crossover. What's wrong with the scanlation community? He has so much work, it could probably take a life time to attempt to get through all his work. I guess as it is now it will be impossible to write a truly well informed scholar English work. The best I'm going to get is by reading other English books about his works, second source information, which means our work won't be that creditable. I'm a little frustrated, I did actually attempt to find some fall classes that taught Japanese, but apparently with the state the California's education system is in including and specifically the collegiate system, I can't seem to find any Japanese courses in my area. I'm not so good with self teaching either. ARGH!

Hey so I spent all night researching anime again and came across Tezuka, Osamu "The God of Manga", I've seen some of his movies and series that have been released, but it looks like his manga is mostly still untranslated. I actually still haven't seen Astro Boy. I know it should have been the first selection for the Master List forum, but well frankly, I'm having a hard time even finding the original material. The reality is, after a little research that the original U.S. copies were destroyed!!! There are some expensive collectors box sets, but they don't come close to the original Japanese box set releases that have all 193 episodes vs the U.S. version with only has 104 episodes. Of course the Japanese collection is around 1500 dollars and only in Japanese. The manga doesn't have an easy solution either, their priced around ten dollars a vol. and there are literally so many different versions I'm just confused. I've seen a tree vol. version here, but I have no idea if that is the original version. Amazon and ANN report it to be 23 vol. in English released in 2004. I can't figure out what to do with this one Merci. I'm not sure what that Madman's three volume thing was.

I heard the last volume of Tsubasa RC has finally come out too. Sorry it's taken me so long to have money. I remember reading a work up on Demon Flowers before. Your trying to make me read yaoi aren't you? You are so devious. I think I'd like to read something a little more seinen or shoujo if you have any suggestions in those genres. I still need to finish reading Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou which is really good. Plus I've taken on this new scholarly task of actually getting to understand the artform and the culture a even better. DreamLand Japan has been very insightful thus far. I can't wait to get to the manga reviews or examples part. I'm also going to reading Speed Racer: Mach GOGOGO as an attempt to be better able to explain why it deserves to be on the NTZ Master list of Anime. And of course I still have to make some time to finish up the Clannad review. I'm still on the photoshop stage right now, but I've got most of the stills that I need and I've done a lot of the research so if I can pull myself away from some of these other projects I'll write it up.

Thought I'd send this post out to everyone. I worked my ass off.
Yesterday I spent about 12 hours!!!, yes I'm crazy, creating two polls for the new FALL SERIES coming out. Who new it would be so difficult, but their were a lot of pics and series/movies/ova's that needed further scrutiny to make sure that they were actually coming. Once series that is supposed to be coming out was Inuyasha Final Act. Moetron and other sites still have it posted as being released sometime in October, but the wikifansubs has it crossed out meaning it was dropped. Viz media has already licensed the series so they might actually be simultaneously subbing it for the net themselves. Moetron definitely has the best list so far with links to all the new shows, including all the movies and OVA's coming out. Check out "TO", watch the little streaming video, it reminds me a lot of Igloo.
