Yeah when I had just started getting into anime I watched Elfen Lied and Daughters of Mnemosyne after seeing his reviews of them. Back then I would mostly watch stuff that the Podtaku crew would talk about a lot, specifically things like Cowboy Bebop, Darker Than Black, Higurashi, Kara no Kyoukai, Fate/Stay Night and a few more, but the major one for me was Madoka Magica.
For me, when I find something good, I punch the air screaming 'YEAH!!!'. Well, in my head. In reality, I just smile, download the song and start singing along with it. Unfortunately I am a terrible singer XD
And no, I haven't seen the Madoka Magica movies yet, I was planning to have a marathon night of them with my friends but our get-together plans kinda failed. I am definitely going to watch the third one, however. 1st and 2nd, maybe, since they are only recaps...
It's both a reference to hemoglobin as well as reference to a character of mine who is obsessed with anatomy/medicine, and is a goblin in a particular "universe". :3
I completely agree with you :)
Also, finding the English versions of Japanese songs which sound good can be hard, but when you do find it, it's completely worth the effort. Like Miku-tan's English version of Connect by ClariS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ77rATP3x8
It's not exactly that, it's just two different videos of the same style that I enjoyed.
But yes, I do like the song. I find in beautiful and touching, even though I don't know the lyrics. I get shivers up my spine sometimes.
Hehe Danganronpa was also the anime that got me into more anime. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't be watching anime now. I guess I do owe it something as well ;)
So my suspicions are correct... mostly. I guess yeah, it does have a lot of room for improvement, but doesn't everything? I do wish they had made 26 episodes though. It would have made things a little slower, but I think that would have been better.
And no, I haven't watched Mirai Nikki yet, it's on my list. In a while, I'll be up to it. You see, I write a list of anime to watch, in an order, and I stick to it. It think it's 11th or something, and I'm up to number 7.
I agree that the story is very similar to different stories such as the ones you mentioned, but personally, I appreciated the twists on it (in particular how more than one person will be killed every time there is a murder). In the class trials, it's not really objections, it's more like saying 'but wait, there is this which (may/may not) contradict(s) what you said.' Or sometimes it's just pointing out evidence.
Like when Naegi points out in the 2nd trial that there is no way Owada could have known Fujisaki's tracksuit colour unless...
Haha, it's kind of funny, I am slightly opposite you. If anything, I thought the storyline, while not original, was good, but the characters could get a lot more work. But, that said, I did develop favourites from the very start which is a point in their favour.
Unlike guillaumec on here, I am a super fan, but like him, I'm not trying to defend the series. Just expressing my opinion about your review. :)
P.s. Possibly the reason why I like this anime so much and am more likely than not completely biased (though I can't tell myself) is that it's the first anime I watched. Okay, well, apart from Studio Ghibli films I did watch RWBY, but does that even count as an anime? And I did watch five episodes of Kill La Kill at anime club in my school, but this is the first anime that I have actually continued watching episodes at home and finished within a small number of sittings. It's the first anime that I have got addicted to and could talk about for hours on end. I guess if I had seen as many anime as you have, I would have found it a lot more average. But since it is my first, and since I have watched as little anime as I have, I guess it's just so much better.
Just putting it out there~ XD
