i cannot believe what i'm seeing. i'm rating a romance shoujo manga with a 5. look at all those low numbers that i've never used in my entire life! this is so confusing because i've never experienced hating and ranting over my favorite genre (shoujo and romance).
first, let me tell you that i review based on how i felt, in others word, subjective.
otona pink is one of the worst romance manga i've ever read. i'm not being cruel, this manga is. the story is a romantic love triangle between a teacher and a classmate fighting over the heroine. but believe me, if you're a fan of mushy and pure, innocent romance just like me (check our manga compatibility ;D), then i advise you to avoid this as soon as possible.
love triangles have been always been my thing, but this isn't the love triangle i've been hoping for!
it is also very surprising to realize that i called her (the heroine) "stupid! omg you're so stupid!" for about five times. i've never called a heroine stupid all my shoujo manga life, no matter how idiotic or naive or clumsy she is. ever. but this, this just makes me mad. the heroine isn't the naive type of protagonist, but she's so stupid because of the way she fell in love. i am so against her personality.
the only thing great about this manga IMO is the art. the art is catchy, really nice, and very shoujo-ish. i have no complaints about the hotness of the guys.
the story was nice at the beginning. the romance was nicely executed, but in the middle chapters, and especially in the end, the romance has gone WILD! just to remind you again, this isn't an innocent and pure romance shoujo manga. this portays a realistic type of (srsly stupid) romance found in the real world.
the characters are pathetic, except for chiho. he's the only one you'll be able to symphatize with. i promise.
the manga-ka tries so hard to make this drama but i'm really sorry, zato-sensei! you failed to make a drama story that can tug the inner heart strings of shoujo readers. what you did was just ignite a flame to the hatred in their hearts. one example of a really awesome drama is bokura ga ita. please learn from it! an example of a crappy drama that you've been teamed up with is koizora. next time, alright? i really can't bring myself to like your manga, even if i wanted to! it's just that, you made a romance story that is so out of this (shoujo manga) world, and i'm so pissed ._. please forgive me.
if you liked this story, well oh my, congratulations! you've appreciated something that most shoujo lovers can't, be proud! if you also didn't like it yet you still finished it, you're a hero! you have successfully stomached the crappiness of the (two in particular) characters!
in short, i didn't made a review, i made a rant. i'm so sorry for that. but my hatred for this manga will never go away and will continue forever. i'm also planning to stop her because who knows what i'll say? i might release spoilers if i'm not stopped. i WOULD want to spoil you, but MAL said NO. *cries* read more

First of all, i avoid reading manga with student-teacher relationships, since i'm totally not a big fan of huge age-gap stories (let alone the lolicon genre). Second, this series have been in my plan-to-read list for months, and i believe spider webs were growing on this. When i finallly had the time and courage to read this, i was dumbfounded. This series turned my thoughts upside down-down.
The story is the typical student-teacher relationship which i first disliked, but after reading this, i'm having double thoughts about this type of genre. If i still came to the conclusion that i don't like STRs, then this one will be the big exception!
The plot is about a student facing difficulties in life, but her teacher rescued her from their lonliness and homelessness.. And even promised to marry her in order to be able to protect her! So at the start of the series, you can be sure that romance is already there!
(no, it's not past-paced)
There are also twists here and there, and here again. Comedy is just around the corner, finding a way to tickle your funny bones without you knowing it. Love triangle can also be a expected, so LTRI fans, rejoice! Lastly, There's this adorable cuddly little brother of the heroine who is the eye-candy of the story, and his bubbly personality will make you go "aaawww how cute!" in 10 different languages.
The art is fantastic! It's not the usual kawaii huge-eyes for the heroine. The guys are especially hot and handsome, i can't get my eyes off them. Yes, it may be simple, but simplicity is always beautiful. I don't find much anatomy errors, either. Everything flows vivid and smoothly.
The ending chapters were, IMO, disappointing. There's something that i seriously hated, but the real last chapter made up for this irritating part. I was so hesitant to continue at first because of my disappointment, but i remembered how obviously obsessed i was with this series, so i continued anyway. Good thing i did, because the ending was awesome!
(i just wish there'd be an after-version, like what happened after 5 years and stuff)
The reason why i LOVE this series is because of OJIRO KAZUMA.
Ojiro's personality is the thing that strucked my heart the most. I've never encountered such a cool and complexed personality in my life. What made him special is his spine-chilling jealous face, which seldom appears every now and then. The first time i saw his jealous face, my jaw dropped and my eyes popped out. Before i know it, my heart was racing rapidly like it wants to pop out of my chest! (srsly, this is how i felt! I'm not over reacting.)
I just can't forget that face. A lot of people says it's scary, but it's not really, it's just.. Nerve-wrecking *hearts hearts*
All of his awesome jealous faces are uploaded on my phone and on the computer.. And even no our iPad :"">
So.. This is where my fantasies end. If you're craving for tingly romances, hot bishies, super-adorable younger brother, awesome clean art, and a jealous face that cjills up your spine..
Go for it! Kiss yoti mo hayaku will satisfy all those needs! read more

If you're a fan of smut (just like me), and typical shoujo cliches, then you might wanna try this :)
The art is nice. Guys look bishie and all. The smut scenes are done well, too. LOL pervy pervy me.
The characters are all good. They're funny and really entertaining. You may get a lil bit tired about all the new guys showing up to take saika away, but since i love reversed harem, i'm good. Haha.I like guys who are easily jealous and gets really pissed when he sees his girl being touched (just like kazuma ojiro from faster than a kiss. OH MY GAWD I'M STILL NOT OVER HIM.) so i really like the main hero, too :)) i actually like all the main guys in oda aya's stories. They're good looking and ... Really sweet. (you know, the stereotypical delinquent and playboy who, when he falls in love, stays loyal and sweet and all)
The story is the typical forbidden relationship thingy, but i never get tired of this romantic cliches, no not me. You may think it's boring and unoriginal, but hey, there's nothing that's 100% original in this world anymore. It's just a matter of seeing things in a positive manner and enjoying it to the fullest.
There are mini twists and betrayals in between, but i knew immediately those who are true and those who are not.
The ending was satisfying, because it's a happy ending. you might say again, "what? Happy ending? No thrill? So boring!"
Well.. You're nored, not me :)) there's a reason why i call myself the "typical cliche appreciator", you know? Teehee.
My fave part is definitely when their classmates and schoolmates supported them. I love those types of events. I never get tired of reading those kinds of stories. It makes me go "aaww" all the way. Plus it's a bonus point if the story has those kinds of supporting elements. Jeez, most stories in shoujo are agaisnt the main characters, so thank God this one's a lil' bit different! Yaay!
For those who have the same tastes as i (check our manga compatibility!), i can guarantee you that you will like this. If you have more of the picky exquisite taste for manga, then this is definitely not for you. read more

i was doing my deviantart stuff when my friend suddenly popped up in the chat and gave me a link to the manga, saying that the main character was similar to my personality. i was then curious, so i decided to read it.
WOW. i never thought i'd like it.
the story looks very stereotypical, with normal everyday characters, and fail humor.
well... you're WRONG.
the story has a simple plot, but from there, a hilarious, extraordinary storyline arises. the characters are so unique, that you'll rarely find them in a shoujo manga. the guy is the best one, by the way.
with only 3 chapters available, you'll surely LYAO. srsly.
even i thought that i would jsut take a peak and then do what needs to be done, but after reading, i was srsly hooked! i'm not just saying this!
you've gotta read this or else you'll regret it when you die. the guy is just.. hilariously obnoxious, you won't stop laughing at him.
the art is simply gorgeous. cute and very shoujo-ish. the facial expressions in the hilarious scenes fits it perfectly. the chibis are too cute to ignore.
the endings of every chapter gives off the laughs and the good vibes. i can't believe this manga entertained me in such a short moment.
TWO THUMBS UP!

I can hardly give a single complaint about this oneshot. This oneshot has reached my top ten favorites, and suprisingly, it's near the top!
Let's start with the characters. Sicne this is a stand-alone manga, ofcourse we'll easily forget about the names and such of the characters, unless you have a good memory. I don't, so i can't remember them. Hohoho. Moving on, the characters are pretty suprising. They aren't your stereotypical protagonists who cries and whims so much. They aren't the scariest guys in the neighborhood and most especially NOT the popular guys at school. The story isn't even set in school!
The art is cute and very shoujo-ish. Those round, fluffy eyes might attract a lot of female and shoujo readers. The colors in the cover was done well, indeed. That soft, natural-looking artwork can easily give off the "shoujo" vibe. Well, we won't be giving any complains about the art.. Unless you are a man or you hate shoujo. It depends on you.
Last but not the least, the story. The story is what gives this manga the most shine. The writer, hayashi mikase, captured the hearts of young maidens, and tugged our heartstrings. The way the story is protrayed is beautiful. It's swift and natural. The first story gave me a real strong push. I never thought that i'd seriously fall inlove with this oneshot since i started reading it out of boredom with the "=_=" eyes.
That ending was the most heartfelt ending i've ever read, though it might be a 'cliffhanger' to some readers. It gives off a refreshing breeze.
The second one was the most popular between the two, for it portrays an unrequited and unfulfilled love. Yes, it is heartbreaking indeed, but in my opinion, the story of the first chapter captured my heart until the very end. But believe me, both of the stories are good and delicious. The endings should be given three thumbs up, borrowing the hand of the one closest to you.
I know that there are only 2 splendid chapters available, but you should see for yourself if this manga really is worth the read or not.
I assure you, if you were a boy with the likings of romantic touches, or if you want some drama in your life, or you're just bored and got nothing to do in life, i whole heartedly recommend this awesome collection of endearing oneshots. read more

OK. I just had to write a review for this manhwa.
I am not a regular in reading manhwa's, but this one definitely caught my attention.
At first glance, that one thing you will have to judge is the cover or the art. Indeed, there are no complaints about the art. Weird body proportions are rarely seen. The characters are A-OK, as well as their personalities.
The story is really promising too.it started with a light touch, then continued with a swift peck, then the story continues. There was never a dull moment between the characters. It's one of the reason why i didn't drop this series. The humor was good and quite hilarious, the interactions of the characters are surreal, and the story is just full of suprises. I quite endear those kinds of fluffy suprises.
that one thing that made Money Ace X, or MAX, flunk down is the ending.
I assure you that you wouldn't like the ending. Actually, noone who read it does.
The ending was too open, too shallow, and too depressing. It's like, the whole story just slaps CANCELLED on your face. Hard. You'll end up staring at the last page with a blank face for awhile, and then you'll go, "HUH? THAT'S IT?"
So, i am warning you now. No matter how good your composure is at open endings, you will never handle this one. It does not resolve anything at the end, and there weren't even any information about what happened on the characters.
BUT, the story is worth a try. Maybe if you would like to try how nice the ending is, you might wanna read this one. read more

it's official. tobina touya is now my second all-time favorite mangaka after reading SARASHI ASOBI. her unique yet adorable way of drawing her characters and the unforgettably non-stereotypical storylines of her series makes her an awesome and one of the best shoujo manga artists out there.
SARASHI ASOBI, which translates to "exposing game", is an adorable series about a lone, unentertained shinigami -- a student council president with a horrifyingly scary front, but underneath this mean exterior is a pure, lovable heart with the only intention of making her students happy -- the vice president with hidden secrets behind his smile -- and their love story.
it's not your typical supernatural shoujo series. the flow is smooth, transparent and very natural. no awkward transitions nor panels.
her art style is also unique to how shoujo manga is usually drawn, too. the anatomy and faces are very sharp and pointy, with matching long legs and incredibly thin bodies. very comical indeed. but still, it's a compliment.
the shinigami, in my opinion, is very adorably hot.
ROMANCE.
yes, there is romance. and it's very well-planned. it's so amazing how tobina-sensei makes her characters flow and fall inlove naturally. as i said, there were no awkward scenes and panels. no "wth? why did she suddenly turn like this..and that.. and this and that.." reactions.
the characters are vivid and wonderful. their expressions are priceless, and the moments are all precious. the way she handles the genre romance is very, very, veeeery impressive. they're just so honest, straightforward and breathtaking. plus, the drama isn't pushed too hard, making it more realistic as it blends too well with the romance.
ofcourse, all of these are done with the help of tobina-sensei's masterpiece art.
COMEDY.
yep. this series is one effin' hilarious. all through out. it's well balanced with the drama and romance. very, very impressive. the comedy isn't just thrown into the series like some guy trying to joke a clown. no. the comedy was very well-thought of, very effective, and unexpected.
what's the beautiful thing about SARASHI ASOBI is the way tobina-sensei storytells. the manga didn't ubruptly end when the two protagonists were finally together. she continued their journey for a little bit longer, and the story didn't stray from the main points.
there is also this extra oneshot at the end which will complete the main course. unfortunately, unlike sarashi asobi, this oneshot contains mild drama that concludes with a bittersweet ending. this is a most likely the very best 'dessert' in a series. after gobbling the scrumptious main dish, this oneshot portrays a bitter yet sweet sugar cold ice cream with sprinkles on top.
the combination of the main story + the oneshot is very amazing, and this will leave YOU being able to NOT forget the unforgettable SARASHI ASOBI as a whole.
(it's all thanks to the oneshot. *wink wink*)
---
it's not suprising to hear that sarashi asobi reached my top ten favorites. in fact, it's seated at the #2 spot. well, not suprising indeed. after all, the series that sits on the first spot is KEPPEKI SHOUNEN KANZEN SOUBI, another series from tobina-sensei. how wonderful. read more

SKET DANCE
one word: awesome.
i've read some of the reviews of this series, and a lot points out that this series is a highschool-setting gintama (or something like that) that lacks humor.
i haven't watched gintama yet so i wouldn't know for sure, but there is one thing that i know. sket dance isn't all about the comedy.
the story is all about three interesting highschool protagonists. our main hero, fujisaki yuusuke (let's just call him "bossun"), is an ordinary protagonist (like most shounen heroes). his special skills includes drawing and total concentration (which activates everytime he puts his goggles on). then we have onizuka hime (or "himeko"), the tough female protagonist who has a weird taste for lollipops. and last but not the least, my favorite character from this series, usui kazuyoshi or "switch", the smart-ass otaku who speaks using his laptop. together, they form a club in kaimei high called "sket dan", and their goal is to help anyone who needs them.
well yeah, almost all of the themes are quite the same with gintama. two guys and one girl team, inhumanely strong female protagonist, nerdy megane-kun and stuff. indeed, a lot might say that sket dance is a "copy" of gintama, but.. oh come on. get over it. sket dance has OTHER things to brag about.
there are different other casts that completes this series, and believe me, all of them are unique in their own ways. a samurai, creepy teachers, a manga-ka, a fast eater, otakus, sadako-like ghost(ehem), a seiyuu/singer and a lot more! all of them can be found here.
what's more is that this series can give you laughs. sure, the comedy isn't as hardcore as gintama, but.. well, it still manages to give the audience good vibes. there are also episodes which are definitely hilarious (the ep wherein they were mascots for a live show but then they were locked in a storage room), some give off a few smiles, and the others end in a satisfying way.
but the main reason why i LOVE this series is because of it's drama content, and when i say drama, it includes the 'kizuna' (bond). the backstory of every protagonist is dramatic, and for some reason - in my opinion, really tragic. i got really close to the characters after their pasts were revealed, especially switch's. i love him the most. his feelings of the past (and the present) reached me. i was actually shocked to find myself shedding tears at a simple dramatic backstory. it just isn't me to cry. bossun's backstory also made me shed a tear, but not for him, but for his dad(haha) (when he was so excited and happy then he got in a car accident.. it's so.. UGH.). as for this "kizuna" .. i've seen series that tackles friendship, but sket dance is just so different. (e.g. kimi ni todoke, lovecom, anohana, hanasaku iroha etc.) these three characters give this feeling of "inseparable friendship" and "irreplaceable bond". these three are more than just best friends, but they're not a threesome (hahaha). if you watch closely, their bond is REALLY more than a family. while watching it, you'll feel that it's real. it doesn't look like they're just acting it up. i cannot explain it very well, but if you just watch carefully, i'm sure you'll understand what i mean.
sket dance isn't all about making it's viewers laugh. it also wants to show the audience the beautiful bond that was created. the realistic feel of friendship of these three unique smiling human beings.

this is definitely going to reach a position in my top ten favorites.
maou voice is a SERIOUSLY HILARIOUS romantic oneshot that will definitely tickle your funny bones and make you fall in love with it's characters.
it's about the sweet adorable demon king who has a destructive voice that can destroy the world and the demon world if he shouts. that's why he has an (another hilarious) interpreter who makes all his sweet whispers into an aggressive commandment. our final character is the heroine who the demon king falls head over heels inlove with at first sight.
the story is quite unique in the shoujo universe, and the crazy antics of the characters makes this oneshot worth to read.
but i think that the demon king chrome's "sweetness" and "gentleness" makes him unfit or unbelievable as a demon king. how can a demon be a demon if he isn't even evil? oh well.. i guess he got to be a king because of his strength and his voice xD.
the art is a-okay: passable. chrome looks adorably bishie when he's inlove, and teruru (the hero) is cute, too. the interpreter is plain funny. i like him. wait, i love all the characters!
the only thing i'm disappointed with is this manga's length. it's very short and very oneshot-y, so readers will definitely get cliff-hanged. there are only two amazing chapters, but it is said to be completed. i hope the manga-ka makes this a series.
kawaguchi kei seems to be a new manga-ka in the manga industry, so i guess that explains why she doesn't have that much works yet. but rest assured, i'm a fan of this manga-ka, and i'm definitely be supporting her. lol s/he's funny. read more

it is short, yet it is sweet. it's like, eating a delicious slice of chocolate-fudge cake with a soft serve scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (my stomach is growling). your every bite is delectable, so you make sure that you won't finish it in one spoon, considering the size and amount you have in your plate.
love log is NOT a dessert, nor does it have anything to do with food. i just wanted to compare reading this oneshot with eating a slice of cake.
you enjoy every second, but you're scared to reach the ending, 'cause if you do, the pleasure will disappear.
our woman-hating guy protagonist, okubo, ends up being paired with our shy and silent magura, for class duties . you may find it simple and boring based on the summary, but.. (...look at the cover! isn't okubo hot? /drools ) you can't judge a story by it's summary. it's pretty interesting, too, in my humble opinion.
the art is clean and pretty simple. no overused screentones and messy backgrounds. it's just.. pretty plain overall.
but, no matter how plain it is, it's fine the way it is. you'll be able to appreciate the characters more clearly. it's like a newly-cleaned clear glass window. (i guess i like similes and comparing stuff ?)
people have different tastes and preferences, so i won't probably recommend this to all in general. maybe i could to fellow girls, shoujo and oneshot lovers. like i said before, it's like eating a slice of chocolate cake, but if you prefer eating a strawberry shortcake instead, well.. suit yourself =) read more
