Better known as Demian, I am the author of Otakuism.animeblogger.net who is no longer on hiatus. I love giant robots fighting, men in rubber suits fighting, and I occasionally break that up with heartwarming tales of young men and women looking for love.

Heh, I've only myself to blame as I've had the time to complete it but wound up taking it slowly. I've also failed to watch any more Ideon - probably I should have taken a harder line and isolated myself with absolutely nothing other than Ideon to watch. Well, that and V Gundam, perhaps.

Looks interesting - the biological/technological contrast reminds me of the premise for KR Agito - I've added it to the Plan to Watch list. I've been meaning to check out Junk, too, as it looks like at least some volumes are available from amazon.co.uk. Have you ever enountered Red Eyes? The premise sounds like it's either good, or at least sufficiently over-the-top to be enjoyable, but I've never actually tried it.

A race for the finish indeed, though I'll be returning to uni shortly which ought to cut down my time for marathons, too.

Good to hear that - so far I've been sustained by the constant introduction of new and exciting machines, and Final Fusion's shine has yet to wear off. The preview of the eleventh episode chimes in with what you say, as it looks like Guy and Pizza (?) are going to meet. I think up to now 3G have only really had contact with Zonders.

I see you've caught up with me on LotGH; did you intentionally turn comments off on that blog entry, or was that a mistake?

Legitimate criticisms, I suppose. The cast probably is too big and the Save The World storyline only kicks in in the second cour. I guess I just enjoy incidental detail - I find, for example, the military beaurocracy in the show interesting, just like the Abh in Crest/Banner of the Stars. I seem to recall DKellis saying something along similar lines.

StrikerS didn't manage to entertain you, then?

Read your blog and nice to see I wasn't the only one who thought those events in the anime felt familiar. Some epic things are about to happen for you and you're only about half way through.
Oh one thing, I especially love when the Rosenritters come into the scene cause all the Imperial guys are like "Shit! Roesenritters!! Run!! Too leet for us to handle!!"

They certainly are chubby.
It's a show I've been planning to watch for a while, to be honest, and when Pontifus gave it good marks I decided it was time to give it a try. I was interested in it because ufotable wrote the original manga's story, which blurs the line between original work and adaption. It's also supposed to be quietly political, which I suppose is true if you're prepared to watch it like that. And there're odd tricks like the camera in the corner of the Student Council Office in the second episode. It's fun.

I see that you're watching Blassreiter, it would be awesome if you could share your thoughts of it with me. I am thinking of picking it up, but unsure.

I've just watched the first few episodes and I see what you mean: the bones of the show so far might be fairly normal besuited-hero stuff, but the stylings, at least, are quite accomplished. The first episode really stands out, probably because of the use of the art gallery set.
I note that in your first impressions post you mentioned Shana, and I'd go so far as to say that it's like a live action, gender-swapped Shana with older characters.

After you jogged my memory I picked up a couple more episodes of Kabuto last night, and it looks like some long-awaited plot has arrived (not that I'm watching it for the plot, but it helps to have some from time to time).
I've also started trying to download GARO after stumbling across it in your categoriest list. It has 'GAR' in the title, after all.

Ideon's been one long trough for me: I started watching it before I started my blog, and I've only seen eight episodes.

I am still watching Kabuto, yes. Though it's probably in a watching trough rather than a watching peak, if you see what I mean. I've just finished the dark cookery contest, so I suspect I've only seen one or two episodes since we last exchanged comments.
