Believe it or not, there ARE people out there who think the anime's better. Crazy, huh?
A friend of mine told me she preferred the anime over the drama (which she dropped halfway). That was shocking.

You forgot Nodame! Ueno Juri deserves so much praise for her portrayal of Noda Megumi, I don't think I'll ever be able to watch her play someone else now. To me, she IS Nodame. XD
But seriously, everyone's fantastic. You're right, it's hard to pick a favorite! I think that only means one thing- the actors have done an excellent job with their roles.

Yes, I have! I'm still waiting for the second epsiode! I want more, more Nodame, Chiaki, Mine, Masumi... everyone! It's such an addictive series, ne? They should definitely make a second season! I need to feed this craze of mine. *_*

I see you dropped Nodame Cantabile. Couldn't really get into the anime, either. It felt so flat for what it should be (a drama about classical music and intrument playing). I actually dropped it after 2 eps.
The j-drama is so much better, imo. It feels right for the story to be more 'animated' than how it was shown in the anime. Terribly low budget is unforgivable for Nodame. >_<
