You both have the same instructors for Japanese. I'm sure all the Japanese classes are kept on the same pace. The two of you can meet up to practice Japanese conversations or whatever.
How is learning Japanese so far? You should have a big advantage over your classmates by already knowing how to read and write a bunch of the kanji characters from Chinese.
That's weird having an instructor rotation. I guess that'd make some courses more interesting. I've had a course with two instructors but they were always both present.
