I've been a fan of anime for a while, ever since DBZ, after that I got into Pokemon just like everyone else, but especially the game. Eventually the fad blew over and I was one of the few who stuck to it. It seems it's still popular.
After that I decided one day to get a Shonen Jump magazine (Which I subscribe to still to this day) and became hooked on manga. I fell in love with Naruto and One Peice, after that I decided to buy some graphic novels. I still do that to this day, as well.
I'm still diving deeper into the trench that is anime/manga, and I still love it.
I don't have much preferance, as I tend to always be the "Jack of all trades" when it comes to about everything. I prefer adventure/action manga and lengthy anime with lots of word and conversatin.
