A prime example would be my high rating of Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na.
This particular Anime has some of the worst artwork seen in modern Anime. Although not quite as bad as some people would make out. The characters look quite distorted because of very poor shading. Objects were drawn in a very lazy manner "Yes it is a cabbage!" huh? looks more like a green ball to me. Despite all of that, this particular anime had extremely excellent voice acting. As well as the relationship building leading up to the last episode made it almost impossible not to cry. Thus this anime scored a much higher rating then many people would give.

Other ratings may reflect only its score against other anime of the same genre, So a perfect 10 for a Slapstick Harem anime, may only reflect its rating against other Slapstick Harem anime.
